I drove him from Stouffer's in St. Louis to a restaurant (that I can't remember the name of). I was working for Primo Limo at the time. Our last stretch was out on a run and they sent me in a Town Car. I apologized to him for not having a stretch and he not only was cool with it, but he sat up front with me! He had me pull into.a McDonalds and run in and get him a burger and coke because he hated the food at the restaurant he was about to go to. He was very chatty and nice. He shook my hand and said, "Thanks for the ride".

For selfish reasons I would have loved to see Mr. Perry, just keep on singing with Journey because he is one of the Greatest Ever to do it. But listening to him in this interview makes you understand why he stepped away and I can respect that as a human being. Certainly a Hall Of Famer! Wish him well!

Keep in mind that he can’t sing in that range anymore. He’s in his 70s now. He is the best of all time but he can’t hit the high notes anymore. That’s normal, he’s older now

I was fortunate to see Journey live in '83 during the Frontiers Tour. Don’t stop believing song relates to everyone. We all struggle for something better and we all have dreams and it isn’t easy to achieve. I have added to this song to my playlist when I need encouragement. The first time I heard this song as a teen in the 80’s, at that time I was depressed. It played on the radio and I just blasted it. I actually forgot about my depression. Thank u Journey and Steve Perry for singing that song. I still love it

A very honest conversation with one of music's great singer, songwriter, and performer. I loved the Greg Rollie, Steve Perry combination era of Journey. This time stamp right here was the most realist shit I ever hear about singing in my life! Some people act like with singing technique that "either you got it or you don't" but it's not that simple for the exact reasons Steve Perry describes! I think he left out when you're sick in a certain way (i.e. congestion), it can make it sound like you never sung a day in your life because you have very little control of your vocal chords >_

0:23 I loved him. His answers to the interview was very deep. Now i learned something from this interview. Your voice is an instrument. In the 70's I used to be in the band. We had a gig in Tokyo . I lost my voice, and it made me think that i was the only one who had suffered and not the musicians . Because I'm an instrument and it was really hard to maintain. Whereas when you play with instruments, you can always replace the strings of the guitar or fix the keyboards easily. If you know what i mean. 11:06

Beautiful intevriew . Steve your missed i hope one day you will share your voice again with your true fans. I was lucky enough to see the Love for Strange Medicine tour many moons ago but i will never forget it. It would be amazing to see Steve reunite with Journey and tour the Trial By Fire album to give fhat amazing piece of work the light it deserves.
