Not sure how many know this - I have written it up several times - simply to illustrate just how generous EVH was. Yes, Steve "FINGERS" Stevens and EVH 'did' cross paths on a support gig, and yes Steve was noodling with some of Eddie's gear in general, and his guitars at the time in particular, and this got back to Eddie. Well, as Steve says here above he was sitting at home and one day out of the blue a fucking huge truck rocks up, and inside there were amps, heads, pedals, and a range of guitars Eddie had gifted Steve. Just one guitar icon to another. Steve still uses one of the early EVH guitars Eddie gifted him. To me it is such a beautiful story of mutual respect - and of generosity. Steve imo blows the most brilliantly globally marketed guitarist in history Saul Hudson out of the water. It is not even close, but again 'Slash' arguably is the most well known guitar player due to corporate America's brilliant global marketing of him. Steve is simply on another Grammy winning level. He's known Idol now for 40+ years, and is responsible for writing some of Billy's biggest + most iconic songs. His 'flamenco' solo's are sublime.

Steve is such a great guitarist, I got to see him shred ages ago with the Vince Neil band tour at a small club in Philly, I stood like 4 feet from him and it was jaw dropping watching his talent
