Guys you have to play some Joe Satriani also, to see how Steve got his style of playing, because Joe Satriani taught Steve how to play his guitar, and Joe is very proud of what Steve has accomplished, also Joe and Steve have played many, many concerts together as the “G3” series of incredible performances by 3 separate guitarists with usually Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and other great guitarists who join Joe and Steve to make up the “G3” concept. “G3” meaning guitar three… Steve Hayes 🇦🇺👍

Steve surpassed Joe in style and substance and I love Joe. He didn’t get his style of playing from him. Holdsworth is a much bigger factor in Steve’s style and yet that style is still only shared by one person. Steve…
@StephenHayes-g4t Жыл бұрын
There is still only one guitar teacher involved here, and physically that was not holdsworth. If it were holdsworth, I guarantee you that Steve would not be the same artist as he is today. The teacher propelled Steve toward his phenomenal style and I guarantee you that Steve will say that without Joe he would not have been the same player as he is today. Although holdsworth is great, he has never been Steve’s teacher, but one man was! Satch. 🇦🇺@@マシュードーラン

Steve is an awesome guitarist!!!!! But one aspect of his playing I get annoyed with is his changes in the droning of the bars, like he could be jamming on a harmonious droning lydian bar that I'm buzzing out on, then change to a darker confusing bar of other undesirable notes, like from harmonious emotions to darker confusing emotions, I really dislike that. Satriani does that too sometimes, one minute hes jamming to some beautiful harmonious bar of notes, then all of a sudden the notes of the bar changes to some dark confusing emotions of bar notes, so annoying. Oh well, like they say Where there's a high there's a low. If I was an expert guitarist like them I'd only jam out on a harmonious bar of notes, probably a lydian bar of notes, keep the spirit soaring higher and higher... 🎸 🤘 ROCK ON!!!!!

That's some ridiculous skill. The gain has to be maxed on that guitar so that if you even breathe on the strings they'll ring. It takes some serious precision to not accidentally brush an open string and have it ruin a take. If I tried this, it'd just be a muddy cacophony.
