Years ago, I did this and unplugged my tv, camera can't work, voice record won't work. Spying on me stopped. I stopped answering phone calls . the caller will leave a message or leave a text message. If I don't want that number to call back, I block the number. My phone is for my convenience only , not unsolicited sales calls. The same as trespassing on your physical property, harassment. I even cover the device to interrupt turning my device on remotely trying to use these features while I'm asleep and placing in another room from their toxicity. If they can't see or hear that saves you from being spied on visually without your knowledge .

I can no longer use my Roku TV, because the legal team has downloaded a no option to comply arbitration agreement. Basically, if you do not hit accept that you will not ever sue Roku, your Roku TV will never be able to used again. It does not give you an option to opt out. For it thos morning on my tv. The legal teal hijacked my tv. What is our country coming to? How can they even legally do this, I bought this tv.

First time here, and I'm pretty happy I already don't use those features! There is no way that my phone, or my television, or my truck for heaven's sake, should be listening to me. I bought a little tv for my she-shed, and it is a smart tv, the only one the store had that was small, and it is the most annoying thing EVER. It tries to tell me what to do instead of the other way around. In the winter, I basically use it as a speaker, plugging it in to my laptop so I can hear an audio book or something while I'm washing dishes, etc. It's always trying to sell me a channel or something. My other tv's, with the Roku, wait for me to tell them what to do like well mannered appliances.

Thank for explaining the roku payment method. I know people that when setting up their up their roku and not being familiar on how it worked the people they talked too told them they had to set up the payment method through them. I was confused when l heard that because l never had that happen to me although l had my method payment setup with Netflix since l was using that service at that time. Now l Can better explain to people that they don’t have to set up the payments through Roku and to do it through the streaming companies the are going to use.

One of the things I love about the Roku is how straight-forward the home screen layout is. It's just a list of apps and a menu. I hate my Fire TV and Onn Android TV devices, they're both so cluttered that not only is it hard to navigate and find what the hell I'm looking for but the device is lagging due to all that crap on the screen. They're also full of bloatware you can't uninstall. I have the same complaints about the last couple generations of game consoles.

I made the mistake of buying a fire tablet, thankfully not a much more expensive tv, and it was a nightmare. You can't install apps not related to Amazon, and that's only the beginning. I will NEVER buy another FIRE device of any kind.

I have a question for anyone with a roku. Mine is a roku 2. It's about 10yrs old. Last year it started skipping, just a bit. Now, it skips every time I fast forward or rewind something I'm viewing. After I watch a few videos, it gets so bad that I have to reset it. I have two reset it 2x a day. I did a factory reset, did not help. All up dates are up to date. I turned off all the crap these videos say so. My question, is it just out dated and would purchasing a new unit work like this one did? Or is there something else I need to do? Thanks..

No there is not which is why Im stuck with having at least 1 tv on directv so I can record shows since Im not sitting in front of a tv all day. The part that sucks with Roku. Also that the Roku remote wont work with projectors.

Wow- I’m 77 and my Handiman has RoKu so he’s going to install and set is up. I hope I can learn how to manage all this. I’m tired of watching all on my computer and my Samsung just told me that my old Apple play won’t be usable any more and the mirroring our casting from phone option quit about a yr ago on my Samsung 2015 so- channels like yours certainly help.

I had a problem with Roku. I was getting charged twice for peacock. I had peacock before I got Roku. Roku started charging me. When I called Roku and they were no help at all. The guy I talked to could barely speak English. I was on the phone with him for over an hour. I still didn't get the charges dropped.

I unwittingly got screwed by buying a roku TV. There's no way to hook up a normal set of speakers to them. There's no headphone jack, regular Bluetooth doesn't work, and even the optical output is incompatible with mainstream speakers. Never again will I buy one.

Unsure if you are aware, while my Roku is off (no image on TV, blue light on device no longer glows) my ISP software still reports that my Roku is still on and connected online and continues to send data out, I have since unplugged my Roku when not in use, and now my Internet speed has increased.....hmmm.

Might be the app you're watching and not your Roku. I mainly watch Pluto TV and it has a setting to "pause playback when idle" after a few hours. I turn it off but it magically resets itself every few weeks. I agree about it being super annoying.

I bought a Philips in this same series because my Emerson TV quit working. When I go to networking, there is no MAC address listed which makes me wonder how to whitelist it on my WiFi router. It's not listed on the back either.

I see a major problem with Roku, that MANY people seem to have on internet discussion groups. When watching KZbin TV, after rewinding the program for several minutes, the Roku device freezes up. In order to resolve, you need to go to HOME screen, then go back into the KZbin App. I was on a chat screen with KZbin TV for one hour trying to fix this, but to no resolve. Have you heard of this issue before? Many people seem to have the same issue! PLEASE HELP!!!

When my daughter got me my first Roku TV I would turn it off at night and wake up when it turned itself on so I would take and switch off the television on a switch on a extension cord and it would turn it back on after that I just put a cover over the top of it a very heavy rug stop turning on so much

the number one feature to turn off is the device with the Roku system because LG's webOS and Google's Android TV (Google TV) are way better than that bloated ad filled mess that doesn't let you turn off frame interpolation on the smart TVs that have that virus
