Same. Part of me wants to build a cool system like these, the part that knows how broke I am says I should just stick with the setup I have. 14 powered Wi-Fi speakers scattered about the house, 2-250GB thumb drives, full of music, plugged into my router, and an app to run it all. I've never enjoyed a sound system more in my life.

What often surprises me about some of the audiophiliac viewer systems is the number of people with very nice, very expensive, systems... playing in rooms with bare walls and hard bare floors, and speakers shoved hard back in corners...

I love watching the viewers system videos and seeing all the amazing systems. Everything from the "modest" and "budget" systems all the way through to the incredible custom built systems....all put together with a single shared goal...to just enjoy listening to music. I spent a number of years in my 20s selling hifi and I loved putting together a system for a customer that gave them the most smiles per (£)pound spent. It didn't matter if you had £500 or £50,000 to spend, I always made sure you loved the system you bought!

Thanks for the addition in your video Steve! So lovely to see everyone's systems. Mine is the one featured @ min 8:25 - but I must admit - my system looks slightly different today as I have an even better main reel-to-reel machine and since have added two more VPI turntables to go along with the magnificent VPI Avenger Reference. I have now added a VPI HW-40 Anniversary Direct Drive w/ Koetsu Black Goldline & a VPI Scout 21 currently rocking a brand new (as of yesterday) Audio-Technica AT33EV moving coil. Also I no longer have any of the Cary Audio gear. Prima Luna amplification & Mytek Liberty II DAC + Mac mini do the digital playback honors these days. Incidentally, I rotate between a Kiseki Purple Heart N.S., a second Koetsu Black Goldline, and a Phasemation PP-200 moving coil cartridges. That's the beauty of VPI's uni-pivot tonearm designs. Swapping different carts/arms combinations is a snap! Once again thanks for the addition. I am must humbled. Oswaldo Martinez LTBS (Weston, FL)

I like it that you show vintage, as well. I do have fond memories of Pacific Stereo in the 70s and Cal Stereo. Ahh those stacked boxes. I still have my collection of Lafayette catalogs from the 70s. I even have Radio Shack catalogs with Arthur Fiedler endorsing Realistic. I was always a fan of ESS, RSL, Marantz, I still have my 2270 and my Pioneer CT-F 1250. I bought a brand new Dual CS-708q, new in the box off ebay a couple of years back for 300 bucks. I have been an audio nut for 50 years, now. I even have my Superscope TD-28 8 track player. When I was a teenager in the bad old days, I almost bought a Thorens. Guess what, I still have that mustard yellow brochure. When I use my system the feelings of those long ago days come back. I'm a teenage again with a cool system.

I’m still using the little Aiyima 07 amp in the meantime, but the Betsys sound great with it. Any recommendations for a temporary integrated amp under $1K? I love getting into this hobby. All I want to do every day is get back to the listening room and OD on great audio! Not touring or gigging with the band has allowed me this freedom and kept me busy and happy.
