❤🙏🙏🙏It’s time to kneel on the floor, just did and pray: 3 times in a row: thank you, thank you, thank you for this music. I wouldn’t be still here if I hadn’t that energy resource and currently health boost getting in my cells, that’s a fact. I love this music now at least 40 years, consistently. And had the chance to listen twice to the band live when being in my early twenties in Frankfurt and mid fourties‘ in Turkey. It has changed my way to see things in life without anybody noticing it. I am glad some lucky coincidence, my friends and even my sisters made me get to hear cool music a long time ago.

In Australia we loved Fly Like An Eagle & Book Of Dreams & his songs like The window, Wish upon a Star, Fly like an Eagle, Wild Mountain Honey, Serenade from The Stars & Winter Time are written into psychedelic rocks history as massively influential albums!!~~~

I was 17 and had a complicated jaw operation that day. I was in a lot of pain and threw up, but I wanted to watch the concert on TV. I even recorded the radio broadcast on a music cassette. I listened to it 1,000,000 times, and I must have had to stick the tape in the cassette 10 times :-) This particular performance by the Steve Miller Band has stayed with me my whole life, despite the occasional sound problems they had. Greetings from Germany!

How Steve Miller Band isn't praised more than they are is beyond me. If you listen to their albums from the 60s and 70s they were ahead of their time, very progressive and experimental, and transcended many different genres. They should be considered equals with the likes of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Frank Zappa, etc. ❤👍✌️🤘

I have been a fan since 1973 when a friend talked about the Joker album coming out. In Germany in the Army. He and I formed a duet act and we performed The Joker live in a small club. Steve has always done lots of variations live of his songs. He often changed members of his band and some ended up on some great records of other groups like Journey then some had great albums of their own. Boz Scaggs who actually wrote and sang the original "Babe's calling me home". The harmonica player here opened for Steve at the Inglewood Forum in 1976 and I was there. Sadly we lost Norton Buffalo to cancer a few years back. Norton was one of only a few that was with Stevie Guitar Miller. My farvorite drummer Steve had was Gary Malaber, infact just a very distictive drummer period even did work for another fave of mine Eddy Money and Van Morrison! My biggest influence as a composer is Still Steve!💖

Was the absolute highlight of the 1983 Rockpalast Festival on the Loreley Rock in St. Goarshausen, Germany. I still remember that the entire festival was broadcasted live on German television and on all German radio stations that Saturday. Back then, I recorded the gig of the Steve Miller Band on a BASF cassette tape. I still have the tape today and honor it!

The “Instrumental” at 29:14 is called “Buffalo’s Serenade”. I’m sure I have it on a 12” vinyl record of a Steve Miller live single (can’t remember which one) as the ‘b’ side. Phillip Jackson a.k.a. Norton Buffalo RIP.

What professionalism! What perfection for a live band! The only flaws I see are that Rock'n'Me, Jungle Love and Jet Airliner are too fast. But they are still done without a hitch. Kudos to Steve, Gerald Johnson, Gary Mallaber, the late Norton Buffalo, Kenny Lee Lewis and Byron Allred, as well as Rockplast/German TV for such a great audio and video recording - never thought I would see "Macho City" performed live on stage - too bad it is cut short.

31:10 Norton solo. I was in 3 or 4 bands with Buffalo. Man, he was always putting them together. he was working B of A in San Fransisco and had to hitchhike to band practice one day. He gets a ride who offered hash and when we all get to practice we get an instant gig in an Oakland studio backing a piano player. Norton could have played circles around the piano player but since he was paying Norton had to sit on a stool in silence. Even in the Miller Band he didn't get the recognition he deserved.
