Steven Curtis Chapman - God is on the Throne

4 years ago as we approached a wild & stressful presidential election I wrote a song to remind myself and anyone else who needed to be reminded that regardless of who won the election, “God Is On The Throne”. Now, 4 years later I find myself in need of this message again...maybe even more than ever. So with a little “updating” I offer this new version of a message that has been true since before time began, and will be just as true on Nov 4th! May we keep our hearts anchored to this HOPE in the days ahead...come what may...God Is On The Throne!

It's either DADGAD or it's tuned down a half or whole steo from DADGAD. I don't think he plays much in straight DADGAD now, but I could be wrong. I've figured out most of the song so far. It's pretty easy once you know the chord shapes he uses often 🙂. The interesting thing is he originally wrote this song with a different chorus chord-wise 4 years ago. I actually prefer that one better, but I do like this one as well! That's the one I've been working on.

Definitely DADGAD, and I think he's doing it a whole step down if not a step and a half down. Thanks for the reply tho! I also like the older one better. In fact, thats the one I learned and played for my church the Sunday after the elections!

It is DADGAD tuned down a half step. " Til The Blue" is another one that is great and is fairly easy to learn. Except for the ending run of the intro. Beautiful song! I've actually been learning how to play a lot of his early songs in DADGAD or a tuned down version. That's been fun!
