In the 1970s a construction worker could afford a house and a sports car. In 2024, AI tracks how many bathroom breaks a warehouse worker takes to determine if they'll be fired and evicted from the $1500 500 square foot studio apartment that costs half of their paycheck.

I think the expectations of younger people are unrealistic. They get stuck in a negative loop by the things they can't control instead of moving on with the things they can control. Find your person. Work together toward a shared goal. Things will get better if you can accept that it may be in incremental ways and not all at once.

“Immediately.” Both quotes from Primo Levi- supposedly he was there. “The Drowned and the Saved”, 1986 ( he died in 1987). ...” that with one glance would decide whether I should go immediately into the gas chamber or......” Contrast: “If this is a Man”. 1959. ....”Beppo who is twenty years old and is going to the gas-chamber the day after tomorrow and knows it....” Since when does “ immediately “ equate with “ the day after tomorrow “? No answer expected or even possible. Weaponization is nothing new. Alas, the human brain prefers a lie. Always has always will.

Buck up, everybody! Sure, you'll never own a house, have a family, or feel anything but emptiness for your entire life, but just know that there's a starving child somewhere in an African village will now be able access the Internet so he can learn how to sneak into America and replace you. Isn't the (modern) circle of life wonderful?
