Thank you for this video. I have hunted for 30years mostly deer, Turkey, small game , waterfowl , and upland game. I got sick after a dove hunt. I think it must have been a mild case of salmonella or similar. The dog had the birds in their mouths, I handled the birds with bare hands. But I did not consume these birds I gave my limit to another hunter. Symptoms; for about 3-4 days I defecated white stools that had the consistency of a white mucous. No stomach pain or intestinal pains, it cleared up so I didn’t go the Dr. I guess it could have been worse. Also one time I was field dressing a deer and I could see a worm in its guts. I field dressed it and moved on, I assumed it was not in the muscle tissue, I took it to the meat processing plant - which turned it into salami , deer stix and hamburger which I assume killed anything bad as mostly hamburger was cooked well and mixed with beef meat and beef fat. No reported ill affects. Be careful out there people cook wild game well. I am not an expert but I know you can get sick and badly.

I'm surprised that a professional hunting guide would make the HUGE mistake of letting him and his clients eat poorly cooked bear meat. The trichinosis parasite problem was discovered in 1835 and is widely known to be linked to meat from bears and other animals. In 1835, two men by the names of Sir Richard Owen and Sir James Paget were working in a laboratory in London. Sir Paget was just a first-year medical student at the time, and was under the direction of Sir Owen during an autopsy. Both of the gentlemen observed the mass of worms that lined the diaphragm of the cadaver. With his scientific excitement, Sir Paget decided to collect some of this tissue to observe the worms a bit more closely. However, without alerting his student, Sir Owen, decided to report to the zoological society in London about the findings of this new parasite, providing its present day name. What is interesting is that the day after the discovery, Sir Paget decided to write to his brother about the new scientific observation. If this was not the case, the discovery of Trichinosis would be credited to only Sir Owens. Source: Stanford University. web.stanford.edu/group/parasites/ParaSites2001/trichinosis/

I just found Steve through JRE, first thing I hear is how he got rushed by a bear because they decided to sit in eat sandwiches under a tree with a hanging carcass, now I see this video him explaining they got a virus from eating undercooked meat. You'd be fucked if you caught me trusting this guy.

Are there any other negative side effects other than the week of pain and not being able to be eaten?

So does that mean you now have those worms forever?

Just watched JRE, the guy from living below zero. Even he says Bears are filthy animals full of parasites and it’s Not from just the meat! It’s their fur as well which has has worn eggs that can survive most conditions and easily get ingested thru your nose and mouth to hatch and burrow into your brain and/ or eyes. He only ate Bears out of pure necessity but he did enjoy the Fat; I do remember that.

Sadly I contracted this disease from spicy wild opossum sausage meat back in 2009. The doctors were going crazy and they couldn’t do anything about my situation. When I saw some specialists they basically told me good luck, till this day I still have worms climbing out of my ass and ears

so does he still have the worms? is this a permanent condition?
@New2Me170B7 жыл бұрын
No. Just microscopic larvae that are probably neighbors to some other microscopic larvae.

Thank you Steven, takes a big man to admit when he is wrong - or made a mistake. Kinda gross, like bot fly, but needed warning.

I went hunting for wild hogs last month and about 10 days after eating it my younger brother started getting really bad stomach aches and it’s been 2 weeks now with these horrible stomachs aches on and off. Could this be trichinosis?

I think it's like 4 out of 5 people have parasite s in their body and most don t even know it. I got Giardia from drinking creek water one time. Had it for over a month ,felt good one day sick the next. Would drink water and blow it right back out. Drank pepto and felt like stomach was going to bust,went to Dr he said that was the pepto making the parasite try and eat out of my stomach. It was awful, took pill for 6 days and gone.

If that ever happened again you should do a saltwater flush. The salt will make you shit like crazy but will kill parasites. Its like a tablespoon of salt in a quart of water. Drink it slowly over the course of 15 to 20 minutes. Then follow it with a quart of pure water. There are a lot of videos on youtube that explain salt flush....but for other reasons. Try to always use the pink Himalayan salt...or Celtic. But salt definitely kills worms, pathogens, and other parasites. However interestingly enough...the salt does not harm your beneficial bacteria.

@thanato37987 жыл бұрын
David Sunderland nothing wrong, just make sure you cook it properly. It's the same reason you cook pork to a higher tenperature
@pokerface94326 жыл бұрын
Just make a stew man or cook the steak to welll-done. That will kill the parasites.

Ok got. Now the worm stuff you took is for animals or prescription from doctor???? In a pinch could a person use animal worm stuff???? Also can these things stay in your body and keep hatching months later or weeks after initial curing of ones self????

The stat "over 90% of cases in the US come from black bear meat" is misrepresented here. The study he refers to mentions that 91% of cases involving meats other than pork are traced to black bear.
