Phantoms is the sequel to Astoria life wise. It’s his journey in deciding if he wants to get back with his then girlfriend Amanda’--now wife after calling off their wedding before he wrote Astoria. This closing song tells us his answer. It was a Yes.

You need to check out the whole album! This song is sorta the “finale” of the album that integrates other parts of the songs into it. This song is my favorite on the whole album but it makes so much more sense after listening to the album.

And they do something like it on every album. That has parts of every song from the album in one song.

@RonnieStewartJr2 жыл бұрын
@@maplestreetpictures7454 Jonas brothers he would like, but MT is SO much more his style of music. He’s probably be kicking himself for missing such a great pop-punk band all these years!!

Take a second, close your eyes and picture yourself in the front row of their show. These vocals, sounding exactly the same live as they are recorded, but with flashing lights and the whole nine yards. It’s amazing 🤩
@susannetaylor99142 жыл бұрын
They put on amazing concerts and they aim to please. Totally agree 💯 What always impressed me very very much is how Josh has the capability to be flying across the arena on a wire or whatever they use and still singing and not even miss a beat. That is true talent.... LOL it's the truth.

Marianas Trench has been my all time favourite band my whole life their music feels like coming home and watching you experience it for the first time is like when you refer a friend to your favourite band and are watching them listen and love the music in real time. Im so glad you found Marianas Trench!!!
@Angelderbat9 ай бұрын
It’s so wonderful to watch other people discover this band for the first time. It is almost always like a religious experience for people. Your face during the end of the song is the epitome of the Marianas Trench experience. They are such incredible musicians. I would love to see someone compile their songs into a Broadway musical someday, a la Green Day’s American Idiot musical. It would be an intense emotional experience, for sure.

Fun fact: Josh wrote the song Call Me Maybe.

Josh has written songs for a lot of singers and bands... This is from his wikipedia page. He is also a successful producer and a songwriter for a wide array of artists including Carly Rae Jepsen, Nickelback, 5 Seconds of Summer, Simple Plan, Faber Drive, and Emily Osment.

Their Finale songs on their albums always bring me joy, it summarizes and is basically a reprise of the album. No Place Like Home, Masterpiece III (my fave), End of an Era.

The tuning in this song is literally perfect to the point it gives goosebumps. The violin plucking in the beginning has perfect harmonic resonance, along with the vocal harmonies and build ups to climactic points, shows pure mastery of the art of music. Josh is a musical genius fr fr

When I first discovered them 10 years ago they quickly became one of my favorites. Queen and Freddie are my favorite but Marianas trench and Josh come pretty close in the way they make me feel.

As a long time fan of Marianas Trench I just about had a heart attack when i heard this song for the first time, it took my breath away! It's such a beautiful build up from Masterpiece Theater and Astoria and this song specifically is such an amazing pay off. I 100% recommend going back and listening to everything in order 😁

Found this band right before COVID started. I had same reaction u did. Bought their whole catalogue and did not regret. Got to see them live here in MD in 2021 and was blown away by how good Josh and the band was live. Seems unfair that he is this good and the U.S. ignores them on radio.
@stephaniewilson70912 жыл бұрын
The whole Album is amazing and has some of my favorite songs from the band on it. Josh also has a solo album he released this year called the Josh Ramsay Show and nearly every song on it is a different Genre to showcase his amazing range and it collabs with a bunch of canadian artists too! I recommend listening to it! Its really good! I just saw him live two days ago too!
@allisonreadingland2 жыл бұрын
You'd also probably like Josh's new album! He did a solo album and literally every song is a different genre - he said it was something he's always wanted to do and he was able to do it during quarantine the first time. He worked with other Canadian artists for features. But man literally can do anything, it's wild.

@lorehamilton26722 жыл бұрын
In terms of queen sound references, check out Queen II - there's a lot of reference to those songs in Josh's work, it was the most conceptual/story driven Queen Album, and other than I think "Fix Me" and even a bit there, ALL of Josh's albums are ONE song, meant to be heard in order and designed like a broadway musical in terms of story and musical references back and forth between the songs. In fact this song has call backs to songs on previous MT albums, Everafter and Astoria.
@lorehamilton26722 жыл бұрын
And lastly, every song is about his wife, pretty much, from the first album to now.
@lorehamilton26722 жыл бұрын
ok, lastly again - You should check out Josh's provenance, his father and mother were both musical prodigies and he grew up in a recording studio.

Queen is one of Josh's inspirations. If you have not, Listen to Masterpiece Theater 1 2 &3 and you will definitely get that whole Queen vibe. Lyrical genius Josh is and he is also a genius vocalist that knows how to play just about every instrument out there.

Even then, Josh wore his emotions on his sleeve & put together some magical songs. I’d love for him to listen to Josh’s really early stuff (Ramsay Fiction) just to show him both how he’s never forgotten his roots & how he’s evolved his sound.

Thank You for taking my request, I loved it!!!! Josh Ramsay had a long on and off relationship with his now wife Amanda! Before he wrote the album Astoria His mom got sick and josh went through a huge writers block, also had a called off wedding/engagement with Amanda! Also with the attiction thing, he was a heroin addic and went to rehab and wrote Lover Dearest (the song/live reaction you did before this song! All in all I loved this! & Maybe I can get you watching their Documentary from the album Phantoms (The Killing Kind is on as the last track) Again Thank You Soo much for this reaction I enjoyed it!!!!!!
