To paraphrase, it speaks of an anointed servant of God (the Messiah) there will bear the iniquity of His people, taking their punishment, being put to death (crushed), and then God raising Him from the dead by “prolonging His days”. They didn’t just jump in the sack with him…they were groomed over time to feel important and special by a world leader in the Charismatic movement. These were very young women, who were vulnerable due to being away from home the first time and told over and over that Mike spoke for God. These were not consensual affairs, and to state otherwise is victim shaming. It’s why victims don’t speak up. They think nobody will believe them and then they’ll get accused of the same thing you stated here. I know because I’m a victim of brainwashing/spiritual/sexual abuse by a church leader. It was the most humiliating time of my life bringing my abuse to light. I’m glad people believed me, and didn’t respond like you just did here. I knew him when he was in St. Louis back in the late 70’s. Did not know him well, but he preached a little at my church back then at New Covenant. He was really nothing that special, just an ordinary guy who wanted to preach. I was shocked to learn that he was this special prophet who did a lot of crazy stuff later on in KC. Not sure what happened to him when he went to KC, and why so many charismatic leaders believed in him, but wow, what a story. Fortunately, I left the charismatic movement by 1980.

Thanks kozar for this great video. I've been Following this since the news first broke in october like many of you. I'm so grateful for the Lord's words, "you will know them by their fruit". I know that there are probably so many Christians hurting out there and confused and possibly ready to abandon their faith because they might not be able to ever trust a preacher again. Or they might be confused On how to find a good preacher and what that looks like. If we know them by their fruit, then we can confidently follow pastors who have sound doctrine with a congregation who tests the sermons against scripture. I just pray that these people who might be confused and disillusioned come to find a great channel like the Messed Up Church or Rosebrough, like I did a few years back, that really helped me see the true gospel and how to filter through and identify false teachers.

There were two people in all of Scripture who devoted themselves to a life of prayer in the Temple. 2…. IHOP created a new ministry title that they called “intercession prayer missionary.” Thousands of people living off the resources of others and welfare. “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” Prayer is to be a secret venture. One in which I pray to my Father in secret and He rewards me openly. Also, the ongoing model of night and day prayer, does not “force” the hand of God. We deceive ourselves when we think that we will be “more heard” because of “our many prayers.” The immorality at IHOP is egregious but not new, and sadly not surprising. Numerous church leaders over the course of my life have supposed that God must have been giving them a pass and overlooking their immorality, because of the success of their ministry. Nothing could be further from the truth. Hero worship in the church has to end. Another “Wizard of Oz” has been discovered and more curtains need to be pulled back.

Watching videos like this one makes this ex-Pentecostal ill. Only after I came out of the movement did I discover that pretty much its entire history is a train wreck of lies, scandals, and cover-ups. Interesting that their version of the 'Holy Spirit' -- the one behind a ceaseless stream of false prophecies, fake tongues, and bogus miracles -- also seems incapable of alerting Pentecostals to the gross sexual sins and corruption in their midst. This is why I am repulsed by enablers like Sam Storms, Francis Chan, and the Remnant Radio guys, even if they may hold to some doctrines on which I would otherwise agree with them. Their inability to exercise even basic discernment, coupled with their shameless running of interference for known frauds, places them squarely in the 'mark and avoid' category.

I find it very interesting in Matthew 7:15-23 when the Lord Jesus is talking about false prophets and then moves into the scariest words in the New Testament, " I never knew you" That all of those people that will hear those terrifying words sound just like the charismatic/ Pentecostal movement. I'm not saying by any means that everyone in that movement is false, but it is very interesting that these imposters make their appeal to prophecy, casting out demons and many mighty works/miracles, but their lives are full of lawlessness. "You will know a tree by its fruit."

Mike Bickle did an interview years ago where he had a freudian slip. He was asked if IHOP was a cult, and replied without thinking “Yes”. From that point on I have thought this whole IHOP thing was sketchy, and built on sand. My heart goes out to the people that have been affected negatively over the years in this ministry. I think it would behoove the body of Christ to go back and re-examine the multitude of reports excusing IHOP of Spiritual abuse. Bob Jones, forced prolonged fasting at its ministry schools, shunning people who would raise questions about the fast and loose interpretation of scripture. The list goes on and on.

Those ladies were being led astray by false prophets. People they were deceived into thinking were trustworthy and godly. People who everybody believed and followed and?adored. So they put their misgivings aside. After all everybody trusted and followed them. How could everybody be wrong? And they would be rejected if they didnt go along with it. But they would have status, acceptance, and rewards if they did. Plus the religious leaders were godly. God talked to them regularly didn't He? and used them? God even took them on trips to heaven regularly. They had signs and wonders. And besides You can't touch God's anointed. You can' t doubt or question them. These false prophets will face God and be judged.

I went to that location several times because a family member enjoyed it. Every time I went there was always very bizarre behavior. Don't feel sorry for this "church". The "leaders" at the church would have seen the same things I saw but they would have seen it on a regular basis. I was only there about five times over the course of 10 years and every time I went I saw very bizarre behavior. They would have had to have seen this on a daily basis. This was definitely more like a cult than a church. For instance, one time I went I remember a lady writhing on the ground in the prayer room. I remember another person telling us that they didn't need to take medication anymore for their mental illness. The songs that they sing are extremely repetitive, to the point that they have no meaning. But more than anything I think the most bizarre thing that I saw while I was there was that they had interns that had to pay to go to school to learn how to be, I guess, prophets or something or church leaders and there was no official credit. There was no recognized degree they could get. That church literally was just using people and their labor for free with nothing in return. And that's evil. So I don't really feel sorry for those church leaders either. If you see bizarre behavior in small things and you don't do anything or say anything.... That's on you. If you allow a church to take money from people to get degrees that are not accredited and use their labor for free that's just wrong. I wouldn't feel sorry for these people and I wouldn't be surprised if there's other shenanigans going on at their new churches

I found the "Intimidation, Manipulation, Coercion, Threatening" tactics that the advocate group talked about interesting. I've been listening to a lot of programs from John Collins who used to be in William Branham's Message cult. He has said that Branham and the Message pastors regularly kept files on members and other ministers to use against them if they had to. More interesting was hearing that Paul Cain, who used to be with Branham and then became a "Kansas City prophet" used the SAME TECHNIQUES with people like Jack Deere when he felt threatened. And his acolyte, Mike Bickle, is now said to have tried to do the EXACT.SAME.THING.

It's a new MLM-like pyramid scheme structure where hyper charismatic church organizations, typically with one or only a few church campuses, are each ruled by an authoritarian dictator "apostle", and funnel money to a superior organization/apostle (unless they're at the top) and receive money from and provide "spiritual covering/supervision/permission" to subordinate organizations. The organizations have a few prophets in their stable. The organizations cooperate on money-making seminars and conferences, music concerts, books, other media. There is no central governing body anywhere like there would be in a denomination, and there are no local church boards that oversee the local pastor work. Just a bunch of greater and lesser dictators with a supportive prophetic staff grifting their supporters.

Testimony 37 reminded me of the NAR church I was in! I remember more than once, the pastor's wife (who also held the title of pastor) scolding the entire congregation from the microphone because they'd caught wind of conversations going on between members of the church about issues and concerns, and we were to stop being so dishonourable and divisive blah blah blah. I wonder if she knew she was talking like a cult leader....

All those "so-called" prophets, and prophetic words through song coming in and out of IHOP, not one prophetic word concerning the secret, manipulative, sexual misconduct, in the leadership. Funny how God does not address sin these days through prophecy. It's mostly concerning "I'm about to do", "there's a move on the way", "heavens rains are about to pour down", lol, I saw, attended and listen to it for 15 years and finally had enough, it's mere speculation dressed in prophecy, false prophecy. I've also seen first hand how the church is proficient in covering up it's own sin and using the Word of God as a tool to do so. This is why you never have an inner circle within a church, and any behind close door meetings involving leadership and church business should be recorded and made known to the members. The leadership should be transparent at all times, they should be held to a greater accountability, any sin dealing with a congregant should be kept private and be given time to repent, unless the congregant has given permission to make public. However, if you're in church leadership your life is an open door. Sorry but not sorry. "I wish I had known", "I never knew", "who would have thought", yea right, keep drinking the Kool-Aid. God sent me back to a church to rebuke it for covering up sin, the long story short, leadership was exposed and those involved were fired from ministry. Imagine if I had just kept my mouth shut and minded my own business. BICKLE and its followers also participate in many other man made devices such as DOMINION theology, seven mountain mandate, Joel’s Army, Last day apostles, contemplative prayer, bible verse projection, and the like. Ihop is well known for going beyond scripture and adding prophecies on top of what scripture already has made clear. It was evident a long time ago, many years before the current situation. Ihop was never called by God but used as an angel of light to deceive thousands.

Really well done video, brother. In regard to the crisis of faith that people can have: I have benefited from some of Sam Storms writings - well before I knew he had any association with Bickle, etc. Once I realized the connection, it bothered me and I really had to think hard about various books I've read, in particular Storms' excellent book on Amillenialism. It didn't cause me to question my faith by any means, but my faith has been grounded in Christ and the Scriptures alone for many years. I can compartmentalize someone's academic work when the scholarship holds up, even if they may hold to some beliefs with which I disagree. All that said, I'm burdened by young and/or immature believers who aren't yet able to do that. I just can't wrap my head around this refusal in many charismatic circles to just call a spade "a spade." Storms, Chan, Remnant Radio - they can all distance themselves from Bickle but it's too little too late. The signs of rotten fruit were there - if not signs of sexual perversion - then at least the signs of lies, misinformation, and bad teaching and false prophecy.
