2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK CRD Fuel Tank Replacement

I have determined that the 0.9 gallon difference in fuel capacity is insignificant. If anything, it takes away from your reserve capacity after the warning light comes on and not your regular running fuel. I have been able to top up the tank with 80 litres in the fuel without running out but I would have been very close.

Does the skid plate hold the fuel tank to the vehicle or does the fuel tank have its own independent support straps?

Hi Stephen. Great to see you back with a Jeep video. I admire your skills. I noticed you did not add any rust prevention to the tank. Is that silver coating good to go?

Thanks, the Jeep has been nice to me lately so not much has been going on with it. The silver paint seemed OK as it wasn't missing anywhere. I would not use rocker guard or bed liner as they seem to trap water between the layers. I think the most important thing to do is ensure that the rubber spacers are in place and wash off the tank once in a while.

@@SteveRivett Hi. It is inevitable that i will have to do my 2008 GC at some point. Road salt is the killer here in England. I do wash off best i can with a pressure washer. Your link to the fuel tank is not correct mate.

@@Nick-bp7jf Hi Nick, thanks for the heads up on the link, I've fixed it now. I think the tank failure and the leaking oil cooler o-rings are the most annoying things that can happen with these vehicles.

All gasket will seal with what you have......... just time to harden. And you climate is to cold for the product to work. Weeks your climate. Australia hot 40c i still wait a week. 100 percent over done. Will not brack of in your filter. The more time you have and patience is better. God bless mick Australia
