In 1981, six years after joining Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks went solo for the first time with her debut album ‘Bella Donna’. A massive success, it sold more than five million copies in the U.S., topped the album charts and produced four hit singles, including her signature anthem, "Edge Of Seventeen." More platinum albums followed - ‘The Wild Heart’ (1983), ‘Rock A Little’ (1985), and ‘The Other Side Of The Mirror’ (1989).
In 2019, Stevie Nicks made history by becoming the first female artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - first as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998, and most recently in recognition of an extraordinary solo career that spans nearly 40 years.

She mentions in an interview, she felt that this song needed something but couldn't figure it out. She called Prince and he played the piano, (recorded it) and left. She said it was magical!
@KarloughPersonal

that song she mentioned was 'Stand Back' not 'Edge of Seventeen' She said it was when she had her honeymoon with her best friend's husband (she died of cancer and Stevie proposed to raising her newborn child which causes her to marry her husband for legal concerns, i forgot his name sorry), while they were driving, the music was playing on the radio, and it was Prince's 'Little Red Corvette', then she called him during that night and the rest is history....at least that's how I've heard.

I discovered this song in the Tacoma Washington prison between the winter and summer of 2018. I was listening to a radio with small battery-operated radios and headphones whose quality, like the small radios, seemed to have come from a store that closed its doors in the 90s. At the time, I was 30 and already knew more songs than people in their 60s or older. And yet I don't remember having heard it before, which is undoubtedly strange, very strange indeed. After all, I had been listening to Fleetwood Mac since I was very young, thanks to my mother who loved it. So that's an enigma in this crazy life. This song is too deep to understand at seventeen. But when you get older, it becomes an anthem.

Suffering from a cold and decided to seek comfort indulging in the sheer wonder and brilliance that is Stevie Nicks. Two hours and half a bottle of whisky later I just don't want to stop. Enchanting, mesmerising and breathtaking. I can only imagine the wonderful privilege it would it be if one were a part of Stevie's circle of friends. Can you imagine that ? For me her presence, her aura her beauty would be overwhelming, intoxicating. One of my life's regrets will be never seeing Stevie perform in real life. So this channel is the next best thing I guess...Peace and love to all fans from Australia, but most of all peace and love to the queen of music royalty, Stevie Nicks.

I'll never forget having heard this live at The Whiskey, back in the 80's That classic Stevie wail, at 3:12 - 3:16....they used an echo machine (or a pedal maybe??) at the tail-end.....if you've ever seen or heard Stevie do this live back in the day, than you know exactly what I mean....that raw gutteral sound she could make, echoing throughout the venue....it was such a great sound.... @@kommi1974 No, he is right, compression is a big part of remastering. The mids have been boosted at the expense of peak volumes, which is why people say "the instruments are clearer." I don't think much was changed with the vocals here though, which is why they sound a bit buried moreso than the origiinal.

@@svenbender5774 Wrong. Listen closely with headphones if necessary. It's clearly "white," confirmed by the following: www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/stevienicks/edgeofseventeen.html You'll also find the lyrics quoted elsewhere in these comments. curtis quickjr. Hence Destiny’s Child wanted Stevie in the video as a nod to her for letting them sample the guitar lick.

Agent J 100% respectable between the age difference. But ones love for music is so different for one another. You may have had a lot more time then I have but I do have to say growing up fast as I did all had was music

Agent J you don’t know me hahaha. I’m not someone to explain myself to anyone I don’t care. Lighten the hell up and live a little, baby boomers are so fixed minded. But I guess you can’t teach old dogs new tricks 🤷‍♀️ live a wonderful life, I hope that for you

Agent J it’s sad that someone as old as you, puts in the time to make someone that’s three times less your age feel bad about themselves. You sound like a broken, cold hearted person. Again I hope the best for someone like you, but realistically your just digging your own god damn dark depressing ass hole

Agent J Jesus ,you are a breath of fresh air aren’t you? Not. Who hurt you as a child because god you are bitter. Imagine thinking you are better than everyone else because you are older. I hope when I get to your age I don’t hate myself that much that I feel the need to go on the internet & bring other people down.

I fed the kids put.them to.bed, shut the doors smoked a joint and listening to this album was a trip! Omg the lyrics were outstanding! Stevie was a goddess.
