Yes please. The relationship between Tom Petty, his band the Heartbreakers, and Stevie Nicks is very cool. She really wanted to join the Heartbreakers at one point in time, and I think most of the band considers her an honorary member. This was all due to legendary producer Jimmy Iovine who was dating Stevie and producing Tom's classic album 'Damn the Torpedoes" at the time.

He actually co-wrote some of Zevon’s songs like Werewolves of London. Stevie has said that Waddy always made her feel safe onstage.....He is now in the band The Immediate Family with Leland Sklar, Danny Koochmar (Kooch), Russ Kunkel and Steve Pocaro....all studio and session royalty and touring side-men...... Jackson Browne, James Taylor....and on and on. Check out The Immediate Family channel....All the songs they play one of them either co-wrote or played on the album.

I am not a disco queen. But I ran across a video of Bruce Springsteen covering the Bee Gees' Staying Alive live in Brisbane. I am like what in the Holy H*** is this???? But it was absolutely amazing with Tom Morello shredding the lead Guitar, Nils Lofgren killing it on Rhythm and the Horn section let by Ben Clemons on Sax and a killer Trombone of all things. 11 minutes of pure jazzy joy. So not all disco is bad. it depends on the band... haha. ANd I agree on Blondie but she was not technically Disco.

I love classic rock because a lot of it is very complex. The groove changes. And like this one, different instruments (vocals included) can be on different beats. Stevi Nicks and Fleetwood Mac are great. Some people will always say you’re biased if you don’t like a song done by someone not of your ethnicity, gender, or whatever other descriptor they want to use. Sometimes people just don’t like a particular song!!

Chod, if you like Stevie this much you may find yourself liking Pat Benatar also. They were right aside Heart as the top women of rock/hard rock in the 80s. For storytelling, Pat's Hell is for Children speaks loudly while songs like Promises in the Dark, Precious Time, Fire and Ice would be the beginning of her ascension to rock goddess right on the heels of the other 3 ladies.

So glad you reacted to the live performance. The album cut is undeniably great as well, but nothing is more epic than Stevie performing live. This was off her first solo album, Bella Donna, and to this day I’ve never heard this song and not turned up the volume as soon as that iconic guitar riff starts. Many other great Stevie solo songs to check out, including “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” with Tom Petty, and “Stand Back”. If you want to check out more of her live performances with Mac, try “Sisters of the Moon” from the ‘82 Mirage tour. Intense.

This song always takes me back to 9th grade, but I don't think I've ever seen this video before. Was that Mick Fleetwood on drums or just a guy who looks like him? The inspiration for the introductory instrumentation of "Edge of Seventeen" is quite likely "Bring on the Night" by The Police, a seriously underrated banger from 1979, two years before Stevie Nicks graced the world with this gem. Stevie Nicks in the Studio and Stevie Nicks on stage are two different artists entirely. When she's on stage it's as if she is possessed. She takes a great song and goes up 3 levels. The drummer is probably the biggest drummer in the industry, Russ Kunkel. He has performed and played on the biggest albums and performed in concerts for decades, CSN&Y, Dan Fogelberg, Carly Simon, Bob Seger...way too many to name. Stand Back is another high energy song by her, and Has anyone ever written you a love song is a softer song by her..........just so many good songs....when I was I little girl, she was my role model.....I wanted to look like her, sound like her, dress like her.......I just idolized her. Still love her. One of favorites she did while in Fleetwood Mac is Gold Dust Woman, but I think there is a live video where she was on tour and was allowed to do an extended version of it, awesome video.

This song is about Tom Petty meeting his older wife when he was just Seventeen; Stevie misheard and thought she said edge of 17 instead of age of 17. Phenomenal song. She does some great solo stuff and this is one my faves and you gone n done it again. Daggnannit guy I'm trying to get off this laptop. That bass is great isn't it? A drummers perspective! People don’t get how complicated the percussion to melody and vice versa is. Stevie does this often. I remember my friend/music teacher trying to sing and play Sara (FM). She was singing about the deaths of John Lennon and her Uncle John here. This was her first headline tour. All her and the band she pulled together. Fleetwood Mac was not happy their emerging front woman was prepared to do her own thing.

Stevie Nicks with Fleetwood Mac is amazing! You should look at their live shows. They are great on the record but live is a whole new experience. Sisters of the moon, Angel, and Rhiannon to name a few. Stevie Nicks solo stuff is just as great but very different from her stuff with Fleetwood mac. Stevie and Tom Petty do a song called Insider that is awesome. It's better than Stop dragging my heart around imo. He was supposed to write it and give it to her for her Bella Donna album but he loved it so much he gave her Stop dragging my heart around instead.

If you really want to be blown away, watch Stevie's 2008 performance of this song: Stevie Nicks - Edge Of Seventeen (Live In Chicago). The video you just reacted to was from 1981 when she was about 33 yrs old. In 2008 she was 60 yrs old AND SHE KILLED IT!!! I personally think the 2008 performance is better than the 1981 performance. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

I was watching this reaction on my TV and I was wondering who would be the first to let you know that you have been reacting to her. I think Mick Fleetwood was playing drums in this video. I know he played on some of her solo songs. I also suggest that you take a listen to Pat Benatar. I've been able to see both Stevie Nicks and Pat Benatar in concert and both are great singers.
