I saw Stevie Ray performing in Lee Park in Dallas, TX before he became big-time. He was great from the start and his music will be around for a very, very long time.

I got to hear him and his brother Jimmy play many times around Dallas when they were young, well before Stevie Ray moved to Austin. Austin, Texas the birthplace of some great sounds!

When I first heard 'Look at little sister', I really liked it and I started listening to more of SRV's music. I am not a fan of the blues but I can listen to SRV's playing and singing and he makes me like it. :)

After a chilly reception in 1982 at Montreaux, SRV triumphs in '85. He would not, could not be denied. Perserverance and a whole big bunch of talent! Kudos to Copeland, too!

Texas legend Johnny Copeland made a stunning guest appearance alongside the extraordinary Stevie Ray Vaughan and bandmates Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon, and Reese Wynans (aka the one and only Double Trouble) at the Montreux Jazz Festival on the 15th of July, 1985. In addition to the performance of “Look at Little Sister”, Copeland would join the celebrated blues revivalists for outstanding renditions of ”Tin Pan Alley (aka Roughest Place In Town)/Dirty Pool” and “Coldshot” at the festival.

This is a great video thanks for posting. I remember seeing johnny copeland perform 1979 at a holiday inn in springfield illinois. It was at the state fair when i first got to see stevie. while the stage crew franticly tried to build a make shift tent over stevie while a real thunderstorm was passing through. Stevie was totally engulfed in a Treacherous Rendition of Texas Flood. IT WAS AWESOME ! I give this video 5 stars. Brings back great memories.

The song never does Stevie well, Stevie does the song well. Ive heard countless versions of SRV songs that dont even have half the fire and passion Stevie puts into them. Kickass solo by Johny as well. Stevie will live forever in my mind as far as I'm concerned.

If you are interested, there is a double DVD set. The first time SRV played Montreaux, they were booed between songs. This is from a couple years later when they came back and headlined. I'd highly recommend getting the DVD...
