A clip about the Big Brother racism scandal. I've never laughed so hard at just the word "no." From Stewart Lee's hilarious "41st Best Stand Up".

As a Norwegian I hadn't heart of Stewart Lee before this year. Now I'm consuming everything he's ever done and loving it. I had to look up the car phone warehouse and what it was. But I really like how Lee gives it to you, as we say where I'm from, "Som en pærecider som er laget av 100% pærer" . I'm not sure if you're familiar with the expression, but it's a really old one over here. It basically means that he's giving it to you straight.

He can wring out humour from seemingly innocuous statements, using just the perfect tone and delivery for the words. And he coaxes you into this twisty, unsure lull of a feeling, where you begin to question the bizarreness of the supposed normality of everyday life. And that is properly funny. He's very good.

When he's good.....he's my favourite stand up of all time. I told him this when I met him in Camden Town tube station recently, and implied that Im dissapointed on the occasions when I dont think he's on form- to which he replied instantly:"oooh yes, I know, Im awful sometimes arent I....." and went on hilariously aknowledging the point in such a manner that had me cracking up right there on the station platform. A brilliant man ✌

He is a brilliant explainer of the stupidity and nonsense of modern life. Deconstruction limb by limb, organ by organ, until it is in bits before your eyes. The intent of sponsorship is to tie things you care little about (even when you consume) to those you do is long established. However modern marketeers are too crass and obvious.
@georgemasson61256 жыл бұрын
Indeed. Any free thinking individual does this daily, and understands the hypocrisy of the big companies using the power of advertising to tell us how good they are, when we know they are full of shit. This was a great piece of stand up, but it seems like reality now. We've got companies from videogame console manufacturers to cheaply made DIY furniture outlets constantly posting about what's against their values. Only humanity could do something as looney as turn moral values into a commercialised marketing commodity.
@johnmartinez74402 жыл бұрын
It makes sense from a commercial standpoint - you don't want to be seen sponsoring and endorsing terrible stuff. But it's funny to see companies explaining that, no, they're not actually run by racists and sexists believe it or not, when they should just be selecting who they sponsor more carefully.

How could anyone have predicted the invention of the silicon chip enabling phones and other technology to shrink in size.
