Stig; thank you so very much for everything you do and your in-depth insight into your profession. Your words, wisdom and and thought provoking opinions are complete, concise and full of kindness and optimism. The latter two being more of what we need. Thank you so much for showing the Mexican firefighters. I’ve mentioned before that I was a firefighter for 20 years. Wild land firefighting - fire storm firefighting - is a world away from what I knew. I appreciate every bit of ‘plane’ old stuff you share every week. And Zeto is awesome. Thank you for suggesting him. Take care, be safe and rub those kitty cat tummies from me.

I think present scheme is a mix / play to US buying them. You can see the influence, but just my opinion. US final had elements of HP who bought them...I think just some "tradition" at play.

44:00 ah the sound of a Leap-1A starting up, Would love to hear one of your NGs start, one of the things i loved whenever one of our main airlines SAS still had 737's before the swicthed to the 320's was that sweet sound of CFM-56 goodness startin up. Good Morning Stig…I know that when aircraft fly through volcanic clouds it can seriously screw up the engines ( the infamous British Airways “glider” springs to mind) but with the horrible fires you’re having in the LA area will engineers be paying special attention to engines and air filtration in the aircraft if there’s that much particulate matter in the air ? …..great videos as always my friend. Thoughts & prayers to all the firefighters & emergency services.

Because I'm sure there will be people wondering. The reason you have a breaker in the flight deck for the FDR and CVR is that after certain incidents the flight crew will be required to pull the breaker so that the data on the FDR and CVR is not overwritten. It's enitrely possible for some incidents to result in the aircraft sitting on the ground for an hour or more with the APU running. So if the CVR isn't stopped you may lose data. This isn't just a possibility either. It has occured several times that the breaker was not pulled after landing due to an incident and orgs like the NTSB had nothing of use on the CVR since it had 90 mins of empty cockpit noises. EDIT: The Baby C-130 looking thing at 27:55 is a C-27J. Looks like of the Italian Air Force. Uses the same engines as the C-130J and has a similar fuselage diameter.

Thanks for the great video 🤗 - Question: When is a scrape or missing paint a witness mark to something being bent/damaged/out of alignment? It should be noted that Boeing offered a free backup battery for the recorders on the entire NG series, but up until 2010 it was not mandatory for FAA approved aircraft, and was not mandatory for EASA approved aircraft until 2022. So many airlines did NOT select the battery backup option. Even though it was free. The JeJu aircraft was built in 2009, ordered by Ryanair. Who apparently did not opt for the backup batteries. And Jeju seems to have opted to not retrofit the batteries as they do not operate in FAA or EASA airspace.

High power run up reminds me of an F-4 Phantom a few decades past. Not our squadron but they had the AC chocked and chained. The mechanic hit afterburner and broke chains and jumped chocks. Skid marks from brakes was about 200 feet before he could retard throttle. Very scary! All safe.
