i have several friends who use chain saws to process firewood, never seen any of them do the maintenance you did here. So of course they have problems with them and take them in to the service shop.....looks like they could save some serious money if they did a few things themselves.I live in the prairies of Montana and any wood here was long ago used up for fence posts so i never had much use for such a tool. Thanks for the lesson.

Tighten bar nuts to tight - yea, those on the 025 that I acquired had been tightened to tight and the front one was loose in its hole. I used JB Weld to fix the bad threads. I cleaned the hole and bar bolt with break cleaner and coated the bad threads in the hole with some JB Weld and put a thin coating on the threads of the bar bolt. I then screwed the bar bolt back in to its correct depth, wiping off any JB Weld that oozed out. I allowed it to dry at room temperature for three days before I put the bar back on. The repair was solid and has given me no problems, since. I do take care not to over tighten the front bar nut.

Husqvarna says never to adjust a carb until the engine has been running five minutes. I never adjust a carb until the saw has been running at idle for a minimum of five minutes.
