I knew the 500i were fuel injected but I did not realise it had OBD plug in capability as shown here and the self tuning is next level . I'm impressed with the saw and doubly impressed with Rip Saw and what they're doing , hats off guys , I wish you all success .

The next saw I buy will be from ripsaw. My 500I is on its 3rd wood season and I love it. unfortunately, it's not from ripsaw but is a great saw. I found ripsaw because of BBR. BBR keep it up Brother I absolutely love your message. Everyone is fighting a battle that we have no idea about whatever it may be, so I agree with you be kind to everyone you meet. Let's make the world just a little better. You're a good man.

I purchased a full wrap 500i from Ripsaw solely on the recommendation of BBR! Not because of anything else but his message to humanity but #2 his experience and honesty with powersaws. Seeing Eric and the crew working personally on every saw they sell just gets me more excited to get mine when it gets delivered. I just feel really good about this purchase from this company. I believe in BBRS message and Ripsaws dedication.

It's genuine believer endorsement, BBR wouldn't have it any other way. I wish I was local and could buy the same saw with that pipe. I got a 500i with the Egan straight shot and their later air kit, and it is a ear drum popper if no muffs, great saw. I wondered about you Buckin when I saw you run yours in the video without over ear muffs, you must have had in ear plugs ?

@BuckinBillyRaySmith I'm glad I get to see you cut trees and buck firewood. Watching you has inspired me to try to do the things I love to do. But others won't let me do what I wanna do. I bought a 372xp and 394xp and I put long bars on both. And I don't even get to use them. Dreams are getting to be garbage billy ray. Just dreams. You look at all the things you can do. Then you realize you can't do any of them because you have no money to do it or support from others

It's great rip saw is so busy. But the wait 16 to 20 weeks is so long. That's almost a 1/2 a year. I hope they figure out something so they can make the process be faster. I just can't see waiting that long for a saw . So now I do have saws from them. But that was when they were a lot smaller. And I got the saw within 2 weeks. But I'm happy they're doing good. They have beautiful, amazing saws that's the truth.

I guess they need to make sure businesses keep going at the current busy pace. Last thing you'd want to do is hire a new person to speed things up and suddenly orders dry out a bit. You've got to take a bit of a plunge when expanding a business but you need to make sure the pool is deep enough before jumping in.

100% agree about finding the right dealer. I didn't choose my saw. I went to 5 different saw shops in the area I lived in (within an hour or so drive) and talked to them. Picked brains for more information than I can repeat. I ended up with the 461 with no mtronic or any of those extra special electronics. It wasn't the saw nor the dealer, but the mechanic that I chose to work with. The husqvarna dealer in the same town was only contented about selling me a saw. I knew nothing about dolmar but the only shop in the area that carried them were a bit pushy and very brand specific even though they carried stihl. They just kept pushing for domar. And the other two shops just didn't have much of a selection and were more of just a repair shop with a handful of saws. I wish I could find a place here like the one I ended up dealing with there.

@joeysweet9045 Being in a logging area, conversing with many of the Sierra Pacific higher-ups and Red Emerson himself. I looked at what they were using. Never saw nor heard of anyone running dolmar there. Mostly stihls, but I was definitely a husqvarna man at that time. I run both, though, and would never say either one was or is a bad choice. I do prefer my stihls, but I feel husqvarna makes a beefier (for lack of a better word) saw. Stihl has power to weight but feels more delicate, and husqvarna runs excellent in the heavy duty brush. How I feel about them anyway.

If you're a faller and you want the best of the best, get the 500i. Im not a full time faller, so i settled with the 462 and its an animal, stock. more than I need maybe. The 661 is a total dog until you port it. That saw and the 880/881 absolutely transform, picking up over a full horsepower. I absolutely love my 661, but I will say that the 395XP husky has it beat for stumping. The 661 is a lot lighter but you’ll never make the torque that the 395 Husky can generate.

They aren’t getting tuned, you cannot change set parameters like dwell time in the injector or coil, target AFR, hold times or offsets. Basically the computer is for diagnostic purposes and to put it in reset mode. They are cool regardless but if they could be tuned more power could be had. Even if you could do something as simple as raise peak rev limiter.

Imho 572xp excellent felling / bucking saw … 462c excellent firewood saw but both can be used vice versa - can’t go wrong with either! I’d say if you use primarily a 20” bar the 34mm stroke 462c will outcut the 572xp 39mm stroke given the same amount of work by the same builder by a noticeable amount. Put a Buckin special Piper on it and it’ll be good nite Irene for the competition !

@@davidcharlemagne6785 I own both saws and that’s been my experience - either saw could be used for felling bucking or firewood without missing a beat. The difference is in one scenario you are production cutting vs more precision work. I find the 572ps’ handling / ergonomics/ powerband superior to the 462 in a tree felling situation and conversely the 462c makes quicker work on the landing where volume of wood produced is desirable.
