My bottom spring came off and i spent a lot of time trying to get it back on... at 3:37 exactly i can see how it goes back on correctly. Because of that i was able to repair my pull string (i could figure out the rest) Thank you so much for this video!!!'

Very helpful, thanks. I should have paid more attention and would not have had to buy a new recoil spring.

Nice Demonstration. Just as a tip, I usually put a piece of black tape across the spool to help hold the rope in the spool. Leave a long enough tab on it that you can get your needle nose pliers on it and pull it off once you get the spool seated. and secured.

I should have watched the whole video first. I got as far as taking the housing off and getting to the spool, but didn't hear the part about being careful not to dislodge the spring on the under side. That was fun to respool...

Thanks. Mine ended up having a torque screw instead of a snap ring and mine also has a coil type spring instead of your coiled spring,

There are 2 or 3 different stihl tools, not sure if the torque ends are different or just some have flat heads.

Okay - well I clearly f’d something up - I replaced the pull cord and all seemed good - started up ran for 5 min then something bad happened….. head a snap and machine shut off, found pull handle back 20 feet, took apart again and was like a bird nest in there. Cord all tanged, bottom spring snapped in two and all unsprung, plastic a bit chewed up. Any idea what happened? Maybe clip wasn’t on right so didn’t stay on post.

So like I put a new carburetor on mine it worked for about 3 hours changed heads on it now it want prime up. Bought a new fuel line for tank thinking it was that. Still want start. Use carburetor starter fuel and it runs. So when I'm pumping the bulb there is a lot of bubbles in tank . Can you help.

Fuel lines might be backwards

@@smallengineguys no there are only 2 a black one on top a green one from the tank on the bottom???? I'm wondering if the green one going to the tank is not sitting all the way down?? I'm going to try again after work. I'll let you know. Thanks
@smallengineguys2 жыл бұрын
make sure fuel filter is actually on the line and it is in the bottom of the tank. but foaming fuel when priming means your pushing air threw the filter. lines are backwards
@Rebecca-zj5vu2 жыл бұрын
@@smallengineguys no line aren't backwards. Just didn't have the green one pushed in all the way I guess came home from work and started all over looking at things push on it again. Still wouldn't start so I sprayed started fuel in carburetor and it started I keep it running for about 15 minutes cut some grass turn it off and started again so I guess I fixed it.Ill see tomorrow when i finish cutting grass. Thanks for you input.
