I have had my Haulotte 5533A towable lift for a little over a year now. It started off pretty bad with several leaks from poor quality control during assembly at the factory. Then less than stellar customer service to finally get it repaired and functional. Aside from that this video is focused on the usability pros and cons. These are what I have discovered after using this piece of equipment.

Love those easy ones. They all seem easy with a lift. Makes the day go so nice.

I'm just a wuss on heights. I rented one once like that. Maybe a 50 footer? Anyway, extended out it just made me nervous. Especially when the wind picked up. I got most the tree of the house where it was hanging over but just hired someone to finish. Had like a 500lb capacity but i kept thinking it's gonna tip over or break. I can climb a tree deer hunting but heck naw on these things.

😂😂😂 I rented one of these, and I was the same way at first...lol. after 30 minutes, you get used to it, plus by me putting on a harness helped a lot...

I have been renting these for over 30 yrs. All sorts of tree work. Even lowered small branches on them. Very sturdy, stable. Always make sure the outriggers are on solid, immoveable ground. They are designed to work well , within the range they have. Common sense prevails.

@@treeguyableunfortunately for some, fear will override common sense. Be safe guys.

What are you using for the ground mats for the stablizers? I got some for RV's jack stand but they are obviously too small. I got horse stall mat I can cut I guess.

Off-topic, what's the light mod on your mini skid steer, and what kind of grapple are you using?
@stihlgotit
@stihlgotit 4 ай бұрын
The S800TX has a 12v outlet. I just bought a magnetic 12v light from Northern Tool. That particular grapple is a Ditch Witch. I got it with the machine when I purchased it from Ditch Witch. I welded a receiver next to the cylinder.

Don't have commercial insurance, commercial plates and all the maintenance that go's along with a bucket as well. I myself don't care for those lifts but they certainly can be handy. I started out with one

Yeah, definitely downsides, but also some upsides. That's why I made the video to kinda let people who may not be familiar with the advantages and disadvantages of a setup like this know. We do a lot of no access climbing jobs so this makes more sense for when we can use a lift vs all of the extra expenses for a piece of equipment that may only be used once or twice a week or less.

That's an amazing lift. How high will it extend? I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing 👍 Take care!

It is 55' to the bottom of the platform so about 61' reach. It goes 33' side reach at about 20'. It is much lighter than a bucket truck and much shorter when stowed. Thanks for watching!

Battery powered? Can you plug in in on a job site?
@stihlgotit
@stihlgotit 5 ай бұрын
It is battery powered. There are 4 batteries that allow it to work for a full day before needing charged.

Can you have it plugged in while you work with it?
@stihlgotit
@stihlgotit 4 ай бұрын
@@mmtreeservice2338 you could, but you would have to make sure the cord didn't get wrapped up in the rotator. They have an option to have an on board generator. The charge will generally run a full 8-9hr before needing recharged.

@@stihlgotitmy buddy has one that I may be borrowing, all 4 batteries are dead right now, I get to buy him new ones in exchange for using it. I told him he should just get a small generator like the Honda eu2000 and wire the batteries directly to the charging port of the generator, that way it would always be ready to go and he wouldn't have to plug it in(hard for him to dowhere he lives). Thanks for the video. Be safe.

@@brettblack7049 yeah they have a generator option. I don't have it on mine, but wish I did.

That is not true. It takes money to make money. I invest back into my business and it allows me to be safer and more efficient. That in turn makes more money and saves wear and tear on your body allowing you to work more years.
