Awesome Stiletto! I just picked up both the full size and mini tanto blade M16 with the dead bolt lock and this is a much needed video for everyone who has a deadbolt lock knife. Thanks always for sharing brother!

Right on. I am glad to have made a Video Deadbolt Lovers can use. The Flavio Ikoma Deadbolt is one of my favorites. I am glad to help out. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Thanks so much Stiletto! That helps a lot. I just picked up the CRKT Clever Girl folder and that pivot keeps coming loose too. I'm going to try this out tomorrow morning. I didn't know you had to let it sit for so long after. That's mostly where I've been going wrong I think. Thanks again for making this video for me. Super cool. Thanks brother

Glad I could help! And, yes, you have to let the Lok-Tite do it's thing and thoroughly dry. Two days, at least, is what I would recommend... Bro, you are so welcome. I am not a Pro. But, I can share my personal experiences with the Knives I love... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Do you recommend getting the M16 I’m not sure I want one but it’s assisted I don’t know if I’m going to like it!!!!! You seem like you love it I always liked that model you think I should get it?
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is assisted. Usually, I don't care for assisted folders. But, in this case, I feel it's an improvement to the Deadbolt... other than that, this one is very much like the other Deadbolts. Myself, I absolutely luv the Tactical Style and Feeling I get from the CRKT M16 Series of Folders. And, now, you can get one with a Deadbolt. Yes, I absolutely luv this one. And, if the pivot issue is something you can deal with, I would, definitely, highly recommend this one to you... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Ive been flicking mine for 3 days now and my pivot hasnt come loose? And how do you know it is without taking it apart? Wow, you know what I just noticed? My thumb studs came loose.
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
You will get some side to side blade play. Your external blade stops have come loose? I never had that experience... Myself, I don't use my Liner-Lock, Frame-Lock, Power-Lock, Ballbearing-Lock, Deadbolt, and Tri-Ad Folders for fidgeting. For fidgeting, I prefer Plunge-Lock, Axis-Lock, Able-Lock, Recoil-Lock, XR-Lock, Compression-Lock, and the Shark-Lock. These are my personal favorite lock types to fidget with. And, are the one's I would recommend for fidgeting; they can handle constant fidgeting the best, in my opinion... :-) It sounds like you have put it through a good endurance test... :-) :-) :-) Right on Bro. It's time to pull some maintenance on that one with some Blue Lok-Tite... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

@@Kris_Stiletto There was no locktite on the external blade stops at all.

Would removing the spring for the assisted opening cause any issues with the knife? Im thinking about getting one of these but i absolutely hate assisted opening knives

These won't work without the Ken Onion Assist. Just letting you know... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

If your puttin red locktite on the pivot how you going to get it apart if you need to take it apart again??
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
I have never had an issue with taking apart one of my Deadbolts after I have done this to it. In fact, I had already done this to this one, after the third day I had it; the pivot kept coming loose... I took it apart for this Video without any issues. The male pivot screw is screwing into the female liner that's been tapped to accept the pivot screw. And there aren't many threads for it to screw into, in the heat-treated SS liner. So, it's not hard to unscrew the pivot. And, if yours's hard to remove, I suggest that you boil some hot water, turn of the flame, and then hold the pivot end of the folder in the hot water until it feels a little warm. This will soften Red Lok-Tite. But I have never had an issue with Deadbolts. But, then, on the folders I use, I tend to maintain them a lot. Why? I like to see if they are wearing out... Or, if they need maintenance. Lubed Knives, in my opinion, function the best and are the most dependable... Just like Guns... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Hi Stiletto, between the Cold Steel Talwar XL, the AUS10 Espada, and the SR1 S35VN, which would you carry fit a defensive blade? Thank you for everything!
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
The Talwar XL; it's light and fast and well balanced in hand. And the grip on the Talwar XL is the best, in my opinion. The Espada, I like the Espada because of many of the same reasons I absolutely luv the XL Talwar for... :-) Though, it's heavier and a little slower in hand and the grip isn't as good as the Talwar XL, it makes up for that with how heavy-duty it is compared to the Talwar XL. The SR1 on the other hand, is a super heavy-duty folder; that's the way I think of the SR1 Series of Folders. I personally think the only folder that's stronger, ounce for ounce, is the 4Max. Ounce for Ounce, any of the SR!'s might just be one of the strongest folders in the "World!" But, for a Knife Fight, I want the longest and fastest in hand folder I can legally carry, comfortably. And, the other two choices, in my opinion, would be the one's I'd pick first... :-) Awesome question, Bro! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

@@Kris_Stiletto Thank you VERY much for your most valuable time. I own three each of the SR1 blades, the clip point, and the tanto. I just ordered the Espada XL AUS10 and the Talwar XL. I have a plethora of small blades, but I have a fetish for BIG knives. My collection is nothing like yours, but if you ever want to visit Idaho, I live in the country and have two spare bedrooms. I'd pop the top to my knife chest. I have son oddities such as an ivory scale Buck, and some Steven Seagal stuff. You are welcome any time, night or day. It is like Mayberry here.

@@Kris_Stiletto I have a 4 Max. It is okay, rugged, but sits in its box. I wish they would make a Recon1 XL with XHP steel again. It is my favorite folder.
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
I totally get that. My 4Max Folders stay in the Safe. They're super cool Collectors. But, too, heavy for me to want to carry them everyday. That's how I feel about them. And, "YES!" GSM CS bring back the Recon 1 XL!!! Absolutely agree, Bro! If I am going to carry a heavier folder it needs to be a long folder... And, even then, I don't like going over 9 ounces or so... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
