Pro tip for those that don’t know, when your vehicle is in drive, even when applying the brakes, the drive tire is always trying to spin, this causes slippage on slick surfaces mostly snow and ice. To avoid this put your vehicle in neutral and it disengages the drive tires and greatly reduces how much you slide and how well your brakes work. Lived at the top of a mountain for many years and it’s saved me a lot more than once. Good luck with your sets. Enjoy the day friend. 👍👍

Good morning Gary, I keep looking for those elusive wolf tracks too. I'm hoping to get up to the north line soon. Sometimes there's more Wolves up there. The problem is that the days are so short and by the time I get up there, I don't get many sets out. Regardless, I will get up there. Normally tends to be more cats up there too. That sure was a beautiful view you showed at the end. Guys like us need that. If we were put into a city and given an office job, we probably wouldn't live a week! Have a good day my friend.

As for snowmobile iffin I had the energy, I would search up the old machines I use to own. The old 2 track 1 ski , skidoo. I had two of them. I seen and captured on 📷 bobcat. Just not as many as the bear. But late July was the last time I seen my big boar. Always a beautiful day to be in the Rockies. As for today I put a chili together in the crock pot as another snow front reported to be headed our way. Mountain man

In 50 yrs I’ve watched populations rise and fall, from no marten at all anywhere to now a healthy pop. No raccoon to now too many…… very few fisher to now almost. More than marten…..no. It's strange how it works. Sometimes you can see a reason why, other times you can't. Here, it's been a combination of a lot of things. Over hunting, bad winters, forest fires and heat in the summer, wolves and other predators....it's hard to pinpoint it really. Naw, I'll keep going as long as possible. I did good on wolves last year, but nothing this year so far. Fur prices have been terrible for a long time now for everything else. I was looking forward to beaver trapping, but the forest fire stopped that.....

Hell slim your a typical broke ass trapper get some fine snare wire and take home some rabbit diner if your up there every two days just as well bring home lunch

Ha! For sure! I wish we could, but rabbits can only be hunted here. Trapping them isn't legal.
