Really had a blast playing this! I honestly wish more games got this level of remake (the Crash and Spyro games are almost TOO much of a remake) just take old N64 games, beef up the resolution, framerate and textures, and just let us have our explode-y blocky 3D fun! Also, fuck whoever is holding back Time Splitters remakes/collection.

It always makes me sad to think about that Goldeneye 360 remake that got cancelled after it was basically finished.
@Shinny13385 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this remake nerfs the options in multiplayer. On the N64 you had complete control over the team makeup. I was super excited to play some old scenarios my friends and I created as kids. We were unable to with the restrictions this remake has.

FOUR Joanna Darks... Perfect Dark Zero's "Raver Chick", the original N64 Jo, the Japanese N64 Jo, and the 360's Jo who looks like a mashup of both N64 versions. (but I like your description better... Rihanna Dark)

I actually played this game for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it holds up. While the manual aiming was pretty finicky, the auto-targeting was reliable enough to make it playable. But what really made it stand out to me was the variety of gadgets the game gave you. I'll never forget uploading a virus to a computer with the data uplink and watching all the electrical systems in the area go crazy, with lights flickering on and off and doors frantically opening and closing. I also like how the game implemented increased difficulty without just spiking enemy damage and health, which I wish more shooters these days would take notes from. I can definitely see why people remember this game fondly.

The mission objectives were great, and in the second mission on harder difficulties you take the place of the negotiator instead of starting on the cliff which was a neat change.

Lot of good times with university housemates playing the multiplayer. One hit kills, us three on a team versus a team of every difficulty of sim, plus one Dark PeaceSim who would just go around disarming everyone and instantly became the priority target.

My brother and I were super territorial about games. Whoever bought it was the only one who could play it, aside from multiplayer (and only if the purchaser OK'd it). He bought this so I couldn't play the campaign, but I bought GoldenEye so he couldn't play the campaign in that. Fortunately since he ended being way more into GoldenEye, he caved and I got to play this campaign. Then it just came down to the fact we only had one N64 and we had to share that. Oh the days of being....sadly....too old to be so god damn petty. We were both teenagers already when this came out. Now we are both old and I don't care about material possessions at all, he's still petty and materialistic though.

This game is so good. I love all the little gadgets and the secondary fire for weapons, plus the single-player was epic! Don't get me started on multi, it was GoldenEye 2.0 for those of us who grew up on the 64. My favorite gun is the 3-shot burst alien pistol.

I could never get into PD as much as I did Goldeneye. Some levels seemed great, but others really dragged it down for me, especially involving the aliens near the end. But I got to give it props for putting in a coop mode and the counter-op mode, and just stuffing it full of features.

I used to play the shit out of Goldeneye as a young babby, and I remember renting Perfect Dark once and fucking loving it because it's core gameplay was Goldeneye but in a cool unique setting. I never did finish it until I bought a copy in college and that shit was still poppin, until the last part of the game where it goes down hill.

I love Perfect Dark so much but I really wish they hadn’t changed the character models (and models in general tbh) because I love the originals so much, they’re so ridiculous and blocky and it’s totally beautiful. To be honest I wish they included an original graphics option since I prefer the original models. Also the new models look very uncanny valley when they animate talking. Personally I play the N64 game emulated in 1080p30 (I aim for 60 but the 60fps hack glitches sometimes) but I would like to play the whole game in 60fps with higher quality textures and voice samples. I’m happy with my N64 version though for now, I kinda like the blurry textures and the compression hiss on the voices is kinda cool tbh.
