The weirdness/cheapness of Duke's introduction into the game was at first, a little jarring, but then I started to warm up to it's charm. The core game itself is really visceral and fun, and opens the game up to a lot of creativity! Wish I had played it earlier. I do understand the complaints that it doesn't leave a lot of room skill, since it seems to be all about chaining skillshots, but that just means it's a different type of fun! Anyone know of any other FPSs you'd like to see me play? Sound off!

This is actually similar to the Frank West version of Dead Rising 2. But a lot more work went into that, I imagine. Not to dis this; more games should have Duke Nukem inserted as the main character. The fact that it was done without changing the rest of the game or dialogue is hilarious.

I remember one Tumblr post that said that the best way that Duke Nukem could ever come back was if he was inserted into a game with a story that took itself seriously and I think that this DLC was somebody at Gearbox looking at said post and saying "Call John St.John over, I think I have a way we could keep the Duke licence without looking like dumb asses."

Grayson Hunt was such a great character, I highly recommend playing through this with the original protag, because Steve Blum does a great job with the dialogue and it was funny as heck.

@@jamstonjulian6947 Well, a majority of their team is made up of old Realms employees who worked on Duke 3D or the original Duke Forever before it got cancelled. They can do it, the higherups are looking at just $$$$$ though and might make them do what they want to do and not care on how they handle it (creative freedom), but force them to mabye rush it out or not take too long. Although 3DRealms is still active as a company but sadly does not have the rights.

Bulletstorm was one of those games man... Gameplay itself was polished & top-notch. Everything else was B & C level. The game knew what it was & delivered what it promised. The fact that we don't have a sequel [or 3...] at this point is a travesty.

It's a shame Bulletstorm didn't get more popular. The gameplay itself is really fun, but the writing and art style are too bland to leave any kind of impression. The abandoned resort planet idea is about the only neat idea they had for environmental design. A sequel or spiritual successor that worked on those two things would've done wonders. Hell, with Gearbox a Borderlands/Bulletstorm hybrid would be kind of cool.

I really liked the original game when it came out, but it was pretty easy, even on the hardest difficulty. It was more about doing crazy weird kills for points than actually challenging gameplay, and I think they didn't really balance that out.

This DLC feels like Duke quantum leapt into the body of Gray, and everyone is calling and treating Duke as if they see Gray, and are misinterpreting what Duke says to be more in-line with with what Gray they knew before would say.

I honestly loved Bulletstorm when it first came out on X-Box 360. It was fun, over the top, creative, and funny (at least to me). With Gearbox having touched this game, well, I don't know if I can bring myself to touch the Steam version. Maybe if it's on sale.

I genuinely expected this game to, once again, be a Gears of War clone. It sounds like it originally was going to be, and I'm so glad that they went against it and made it like this. It's so fun chaining kicks and leashes to torture the enemies Also, I'd love for Duke to be swapped out for more characters in shooters and have everyone around him act like nothing's changed while he slowly loses his mind thinking he's in a bad dream

It depends on what kind of stupid fictional boots they are. If they're just magnetic, yeah you'd be leaning, but if they use science magnetic to literally change your gravity, no, you wouldn't be leaning, because now you're on a different gravity mechanic than everything else, the wall is your ground.

Bullet storm came out either a year or 6 months before Gears of war 3. I was told by a reputable source (random gamestop employee in 2010) Thst bullet storm was kind of made to satiate Gears fans and show off the engine for Gears 3 or something. I didn't get to play bullet storm till a few years later, but i did think it was fun.
