I posted this above "I have had a couple of minor issues in 4 years ownership with no complaints. One was a Sync3 update failure which were through Ford Customer Care (FCC) who were excellent. They rang me every few days to follow up until the IT guys issued a fix. The other was through the dealer who was also very good, but its the luck of the draw with the dealer from my experience. As a fall back, FCC did say to call them if I had any trouble with the dealer and they would chase it up if necessary. Don't get me wrong I loveeeee the Everest's, we almost bought one before we bought our Disco 4 back in 2016...... come 6 years later and we were in the market again for a replacement 4wd. I joined up to all the relevant 4wd "ute based wagon" Facebook pages and Forums, Everest, MUX, Fortuner, Pajero Sport etc and found that out of all the OWNERSHIP experiences from them all.... the Everest owners were the most vocal about having bad experiences with their cars, from Rust, Door Cards falling off, Adblue Heater issues, getting Adblue and multiple other issues. It's nice to say "well today we are comparing these 4wd's/cars etc", but you need to ask OWNERS what they think about the cars over the long term and report that too..... because it's no point doing a review with a car that is up to the task (that week), but in the long term it is crap and spends half it's life at the dealership getting fixed!!! p.s. in the end we didn't buy an Everest because of the multiple build issues, but went with the Fortuner, due to NO ONE in the group complaining about build issues and also having the widespread dealer network available in case something did actually go wrong. Yes, it is a bit agricultural, but I like that in a 4wd..... if I wanted smooth and luxurious, I'd buy a Soft Roader (or another Land Rover LOL)!!!

I own my second Ford Ranger and I have never had any issues at all and saying that I have bought other cars from Ford and Toyota and Mitsubishi. When it comes to customer service I have found almost no difference between the three companies. I have heard horror stories about all three companies and never have I had any experience that people claim the only company I had trouble with was a Holden many years ago and that was not a horror story either. You have to take a lot of these stories as they are "stories" as most big whinners never have owned the vehicle they slag so much. I look after my cars and they last treat your purchase well it will look after you, treat it like you stole it then whine about support, your a fool.

It depends. If the problem is already accepted by the head branch, Ford will fix it. Otherwise they are pretty bad, unprofessional, and sneaky. But I guess you can say that about each and every service in AU. Anyway, I had a Ford, I got problems, and it took a lot of time and effort from my side to make Ford fix majority of them.
@jeremyhill38372 жыл бұрын
Always felt Ford missed a massive opportunity by pricing these 10k too high for no good apparent reason. Good car, growing and desirable category, they could have easily sold thousands more to Australian families who want a no nonsense family wagon. Instead they priced them as premium . People who can pay premium would rather go German or get a more luxurious and car-like Mazda. I quite fancy one of these with the new V6 if the price isn’t too ridiculous.

The ball test is stupid. I get you want to be different but nobody ever used soccer balls to estimate boot size. Stick to carry on luggage.
@andrewford802 жыл бұрын
Disagree. Volume measured with balls makes a lot of sense. Usually smaller balls are used, but luggage? Lame.
@chasingcars2 жыл бұрын
It’s not meant to be an everyday item but a measure that reveals packaging differences - so we need to actually fill the space. Perhaps a bit of confusion there. It’s not about wanting to be different, it’s about wanting to be better - it’s about translating “litres” to something we can measure ourselves very clearly and consistently every time

I have to play devil's advocate and say that the soccer balls, while quirky, makes it less relatable when trying visualising boot volume.

I think this car is not the right one if you don’t want a 4wd. This type of vehicle is for those loving proper off road driving. If you don’t want to do that, maybe the Kia Sorento awd is a better option. They handle better because it is not body on frame.
