Looking back, the Hypervenom Phantom 1 and Phantom 3 are easily the best non-mercurial boots Nike put out in the last decade #hottake I would for sure buy the 1 or 3 today if they were re-released at like $350 max

The football boot silos were really great right around 2015-2016, it’s a shame we have so much less variety today. Magista, Mercurial, Hypervenoms, and Tiempos from Nike, plus the cool X and Ace and Messi lines from Adidas, those laceless versions were soooooo damn cool.

Really unfortunate that Nike stops producing boots once they release the newer version, these would still be a top seller

don’t worry. Nike will just release a “limited-edition” remake, sell 3000 pairs for $400 each, in just a couple of years.

I just wish Hypervenom 1s were more durable, they lasted half a season for me. I think the perfect boot ever for me would be hypervenom 3s shape and sole plate with gx2s grip knit

I still remember seeing a single pair of these exact gold hypervenom phantoms at sport check on the clearance rack, likely an online return and I was shocked at how nice they looked as up until then I didn’t know the difference between high end and low end boots, as sportchek typically sold the Low end model in store. I was shocked to not only see a top end boot for the first time but one as nice as these. They were on sale for around 180-190 cad from what I remember which is not much a of a sale especially 10-11 years ago but imagine if I could get those now at that price they’d be scooped in heartbeat. 2014 was prime years of soccer in everything including boots, World Cup, and club football

I never owned a pair, but the one knock on the Hypervenom Phantom 1's I remember was durability. The folks had had them loved them initially, but the upper bagged out and got super sloppy. Also some had problems w/ the upper ripping, esp near the heel if memory serves.

Just got Hypervenom 1s and played in them yesterday. They are easily the most comfortable boots Ive worn since probably the vapor 12 or 13 and the upper feels great on the ball. Is there a similar boot with that padded super soft feel around today by Nike or Adidas? Does the Messi boots come close?

To me, the Phantom GX 1 were the most comparable to the Hypervenom Phantom 1s. GX1 > GX2. The added texture did not make them better, im unlike the Magista 1 compared to the Magista 2

La Hypervenom phantom est pour moi la meilleure tige de Nike en termes de sensation pieds nus, incroyable sensation. Par contre elles étaient trop fragiles j'ai dû acheter deux paires en une saison et je n'en ai plus racheté depuis. La tige qui m'a le plus rappelé celle de la Hypervenom phantom est celle de la New Balance furon V5 et de la future ultimate 2023
