Heard this again recently and remembered what a great riff it was. Never realised it had the open string gallops until I heard this slowed down version. Great tutorial and absolute banger.

Gotta play that 3rd note (octave) on your power chords. Makes it fuller (thick and beefy) and an actual chord not a harmony. Love that you slowed it down and a great video!
@amc11403 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it sounds better without the 3rd note, I dig either method for this song

So am I still waiting For this world to stop hating? Can't find a good reason Can't find hope to believe in Drop dead, a bullet to my head Your words are like a gun in hand You can't change the state of the nation We just need some motivation These eyes have seen no conviction Just lies and more contradiction So tell me, what would you say? I'd say it's time to So am I still waiting For this world to stop hating? Can't find a good reason Can't find hope to believe in Ignorance and understanding We're the first ones to jump in line Out of step for what we believe in But who's left to stop the bleeding? How far will we take this? It's not hard to see through the thickness So tell me, what would you say? I'd say it's time to So am I still waiting For this world to stop hating? Can't find a good reason Can't find hope to believe This can't last forever Time won't make things better I feel so alone, can't help myself And no one knows That this is worthless to me So What have we done? We're in a war that can't be won This can't be real 'Cause I don't know what to feel So am I still waiting For this world to stop hating? Can't find a good reason Can't find hope to believe So am I still waiting For this world to stop hating? Can't find a good reason For this world to believe

I think you should post the time of the verse and chorus in the description. It would make navigating around your video's for what we need a lot easier. for ex; theme 1 0:21

are there supposed to be open e palm mutes in between the sliding power chords in the verse or no? every tutorial i’ve watched doesn’t have them. but for some reason i can hear them in the recording. or i could be wrong lmao

When you play the chords, do you only touch the strings when you swing your arm down? Or up and down?
@davebrocks5 жыл бұрын
I use alternate picking (up & down) during chorus 0:55 special 1:50 pre-solo and solo 2:13, other parts are played with downstrokes except the 16th 0:30

How thick is you pick? Sorry sounds strange haha! But I have a hard time with 1.14 although that's normally my favourite
@davebrocks4 жыл бұрын
Hi! i normally use 0.9/1.0 pick, but if you're struggling with it try with a thiner pick and not being too rigid, like 0.7 or 0.8 it should work. 😉

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong on the octave part. Like I think I'm playing the octave correctly but it just doesn't sound the same. Any advice?
@davebrocks4 жыл бұрын
Pay attention to mute the other strings, it's important to touch them with your index finger to do this (while pressing the correct frets).
