I was suspicious about the lab key as well and looked up if oil rigs have labs on them, and apparently, off shore oil rigs are likely to have labs where they store oil samples to send out. I also have a theory that the organism is part of an alien ship. Reddick talks about just drilling through an unknown object before everything happens. I reckon that thing was a spaceship that had crashed into the ocean, the organism itself doesn't seem sentient nor operating of beastly instincts, and the way it seems drawn to electrical currents like the rigs electrical network and its crew (humans natural emit electricity throughout the body), and how it reaches fir the clouds in the sky during the storm suggests that it's trying to integrate into the rigs infrastructure and retro fit it into its own ships design. This is a long-winded way of saying that the spaceship was organic in design and that its systems are in emergency mode and trying to repair.

I tried to play this game and got to the first hide locker and gave up, i loved the voice acting and it had great atmosphere but unfortunately I don't get along with horror games, they spike my anxiety badly, so watching someone else play it is the only why i'll get to enjoy the great narrative.

What a great game! I loved the creepiness and the feels! I don't know if you're stil reading this comments because I know I'm like a week late to this video, so I might post this suggestion again on your next vid, but I just wanted to say that if you're interested in more ocean-related eldritch horrors, you could play the game Call of Cthulhu from 2018. It's loosely inspired by the TTRPG which is itself an adaptation of the works of H.P. Lovecraft. It's not perfect by any means, but it is a lot of fun and has some very creepy moments. I think the ending is pretty great - there are multiple and you can choose which one you want. It's not too long either - longer than this game, I think, but it'd make a good fit for this channel. I'll stay tuned, Delirious!

I'm glad you put the US subtitles on since some players put the regular ones on and they can't understand anything the characters are saying cause Scottish llingo Also, a note: it's suggested the hallucinations of hearing Suze on the phone and her screaming where his daughters are, is Caz's unconscious worries of what will happen if he escapes and this thing gets to the mainland. Though I think that is more of a theory, but it's supported that his wife and daughters are still alive by the fact they send him a Christmas card, if you remember Suze's letter from the start of the game. If I'm wrong, anyone can correct me

Yeah I think by that point in the game Caz has endured so many head injuries, and the fact the entity has been playing tricks on his mind and making him hallucinate. He also does all of this without breakfast.

I really feel as if I am watching a movie. The game gives me alien isolation vibes. The thing that really makes a game scary and more haunting than scary movies is that you are actually the part of it. Another thing that makes a horror game more terrifying than anything is when you can't kill the monster. I am sure that it takes guts to kill something that can kill you in seconds but still I can't say otherwise. I was not interested at all to watch this but when the things went south it revived my curiosity to know that who will come out of this mess alive and what will happen next. Apart from that who ever made the levels really nailed it, like the way broken pipes, bridges, the small and narrow spaces that you have to go through because half of the way is broken or the bridge have fallen apart. Everything just blends in with the environment. You ask yourself that what does an oil rig looks like when goes through a rough beating and this game just aswers that question. It is good effort. I will look forward to playing this game. One like for Delirious. Delirious really does captivate me for hours on end. He takes things very seriously as if he is actually there taking it all in. Keep it up bro

Ok I saw this video a few days back but was a bit busy so here's my take on this ; The ending just doesn't make sense because if he didn't leave in end then that makes all the "monsters" heros as they were repeating the same line again and again of the others not leaving the rig , y'know to prevent the infection from spreading to the mainland + as delirious said humans are stupid , they like investigating everything, even the stuff that needs to be hidden ( curiosity ig)

Just gonna comment that having a lab on an oil rig is most likely normal since they would have to constantly test soil, water and oil samples to make sure they stay within set guidelines as far as environmental pollution goes
