Our synth expert Martin Stimming checks out Maschine+, Native Instruments’ new groove-box which takes the original Maschine workflow, but packages it into a new standalone format, which can also be used in controller mode with a computer. It includes NI plug-ins and effects like FM8, Monark, Massive, Raum, Phasis along with many more, and also features its very own sequencing capabilities. Powered by a quad core CPU and 4 GB of RAM, it also has a pro grade 24 bit audio interface, and built in Wi-Fi. Stimming gives us the heads up on this exciting new piece of gear.

big Maschine + fan here, I use it almost weekly for hardware jams and group challenges (posted on my channel) - it is incredible for a mobile device and since I prefer DAWless (at least no other computer connected) it's a natural in my workflow you brought up some great points about missing audio. mod, and UX features and the whole sound pack mania over actual synth/sample interfaces like the Akai Force provides even missing that stuff, I use the M+ any day over my Akai Force due to the M+ workflow and the incredible pads and feel, plus the nice encoders I hope NI listens and make more improvements to keep this from being a primarily sample playback box, although I'm always loading tons of personal custom one-shot samples with success and incredible free Kontakt libs from all over the web I easily loaded some sounds I recorded straight from the new Oberhiem OB-X8 at NAMM, months before you could even get one, and I was making jams on the M+ with those Oberheim samples very quickly 🙂 thanks again for another great review and some cool demos of M+ features I haven't tried yet - I always enjoy your content and energy

couldn't agree more. Well spoken, "preset capitalism". Also fun the administrative support to 64bit soundcards was and is a disaster. New drivers made old hardware unusable or trash. Firmware is updating Hardware to states that can not work or even more bad cause your system to stall freeze the manufacturers ID on the machine so no hardware at all of them can work. Reading support and writing to them is only searching for excuses but not for solutions. And when random people call you to solve this major NI hardware driver issue but you figure out that 5 lines of admin shell code solves all NI problems because they all share the same bug, then you know something went really wrong. No matter what strategy they go, they have to rethink a lot of their connections to why they make hard&software.

Mine works near perfectly, sold the Live to get it because that was unusable. The inconsistency in units these days is bad around the board though.

I had so much trouble with Maschine hardware from previous version, I even didn't consider buying this one. I'm running an akai force now and there's no wooble with faders, the pads are gone last for decades. I mean NI hardware if you travel with and play a lot won't last 5 years

"Preset Capitalism' is a superb term and spoiler of musical joy and creativity. It's just too overwhelming and still not your own even if you did spend hours / days finding what you wanted . I really can't deal with samples and presets. The fun is in the sonic exploration - not in scrolling through sounds. I'm always torn with overly complicated devices like this because I know my DAW can do it much more intuitively and effectively but yet like that everything can be done with the hardware. I think i'd just get frustrated with it getting in the way of what i'm trying to do and go back to the DAW. I think this thing needs an M1 chip not an Atom.

Weil deutsche Zuschauer leider nur einen kleinen Teil ausmachen und englisch die meisten verstehen.

@@musictalk-tech Und genau das ist es was ich meine : Es gibt gefühlte 1000 Videos mit selben Inhalt auf Englisch, aber keiner oder kaum jemand macht mal eines auf Deutsch !!! Zumal ich dann lieber ein Video schaue von jemandem der nicht nach den richtigen Worten suchen muss ! (Keine Kritik, hast du gut gemacht, aber man merkt DEUTLICH das du nicht in deiner Muttersprache sprichst) Dann doch lieber in Deutsch, das geht einfacher und flüssiger....

Lustigerweise kommt Kritik am Englisch nie von native englisch sprachigen Menschen sondern meist von Deutschen. Irgendwie interessant. In Deutsch lohnt aber leider nicht aus erwähnten Gründen, damit würden wir zu viele "ausgrenzen". Der Mensch im Video ist übrigens Stimming, ein bekannter und international sehr beliebter Musiker aus Hamburg. Das Video erschien ursprünglich auf Electronic Beats TV. Da wir die Serie aber jetzt hier fortführen und in Kürze zwei neue Review Videos kommen, haben wir auch noch ein paar Highlights aus dem Archiv hochgeladen.

@@carstenherbst2934 So wie ich das empfinde, sucht er weniger nach den Worten auf Englisch, sondern denkt generell recht gründlich darüber nach, wie er was formuliert. Das ist auf Deutsch nicht anders und meiner Meinung nach eher eine Stärke, als einfach ständig drauflos zu plappern.
