The issue with Tomaz is that he went in to the biggest competition in beatboxing and quote "wasn't trying to win an elim." To me that's hella disrespectful of all the people who didn't make it to GBB who's main goal was TO WIN. I would've preferred if he gave up his spot for someone else to actually compete while he just did a runner up showcase.

I think he deserved the spot by becoming vice champ in 2019 with his own hard work, so the fact that he did his thing on stage this year isn’t an issue for me. He got the spot fair and square, so he should be able to showcase whatever music he wants to. It’s not always about winning

I really loved the style of Tomazacre’s elim, especially the screams, cause I love old Nine Inch Nails. But it was a little uncomfortable to watch during the liivestream, when he asked for water. It was, like, Oh no! he’s not prepared. I didn’t know he wasn’t trying to win. But I was waiting for FootboxG-this past year I’ve fallen in love with his style. I’m no beatboxer, so I have to assume his style’s gotten more accessible. Maybe it’s that there’s more pitched stuff going on, like compass points to orient myself with? But his drums are just beautifully textured and I love the off-kilter rhythms. So yeah, his elim was probably my fave, or top 3. I can’t remember the performances as well, but of those they released so far, FBG was my favourite. That said, I think BBI’s shout-out series recorded at the Westin is probably my favourite. Live shows are special, but it’s rare for performers to give their best performances while on an enormous stage with terrible monitoring. It’s charisma and the mythic power of the collective (crowd), pheromones, darkness, loss of control and self-consciousness, creating a religious experience together, and that rarely translates to video. Congrats on making it to the big stage! It was heartwarming to see how much you appreciated being able to share your music, and seeing how much the crowd loved your songs and style.
