there is a company called consumer lab. They test supplements. You have to pay a yearly fee but it’s not too bad. I rely on them for knowing which supplements are the best because there no way for us to know what is out there. A lot of times the cheaper brands are the better ones 🤷‍♀️

How does this expert not have more subscribers?!? Insane.. I wish I'd found this channel earlier. Thank you so much for the detailed, research based information! I have experienced skin benefits with the following oral supplements which I take daily and am absolutely crazy to most people 🤣🤣 * Collagen powder (bovine) * Collagen liquid (marine based) * NMN * Ceramides * Olive leaf extract (liquid) * Colloidal Silica * Astaxanthin * Zinc tab * vit b3 tab * Morning green smoothie (spinach leaves/celery/carrot/wheat grass/oat milk/apple cider vinegar splash/lemon juice splash/reds powder/ginger raw cut up/frozen blueberries/liquid chlorophyll splash) * Hyaluronic acid tablet in water (2 litres per day) * Fish oil tablets * Vitamin C tablet * Vitamin D3 tablet * Resveratrol tablet * Grape Seed Extract tablet Then a topical skin care regime (tretinoin, vitamin C, peptides, growth factor, red light, enzyme mask). Then 10,000 steps a day (try my best) and exercise weights based 5 times per week. Thanks for this brilliant video!! x

Don't know if this has been mentioned in the comments, but horsetail and bamboo Doc speaks of in this video are higher in silica than most other plants. Silica is good for the skin, hair, nails and bones. I use Biosil drops added to water twice daily. Stopped using them for about 2 years and wow did it make a (bad) difference😅. Back using them again and after 3 months started noticing a change in my skin, its been 5 months altogether 😢now and im noticing fewer ridges in the new nail growing in at its base. Too soon for hair! Food sources of silica are greenbeans, grains (which I avoid), cucumber. But the silica they contain isnt as bioavailable as the form in Biosil. Ok, thats my two cents! Thx Doc for another informative video! 🎉

Hi Dr. Kappel! Just a thought as I was "listening" to collagen and absorbtion; I wondered if having the "leaky gut" would actually help the vital parts get into the blood stream? It would actually work in our favor. I have Collagenese Colitis, which, as you know, is a disorder that actually causes the body to create more collagen in the colon, as to protect itself from inflammation. After a recent Cecal Volvulus ( part of my lg colon twisted around completely cutting off my blood supply!) transit time has gone from wildly fast to snail slow. Many women have a lifetime of things like IBS, and "leaky gut". I would be curious to know if your patients or women on here, find that they actually absorb supplement better? Crazy, I know. I find that collage, does indeed work on my nails, and hair growth the best. I have no idea if my skin is intact for the age of sixty? I think I am average?But, I do find supplements almost overpower my system, and remain in my body much longer, enough to make me sick! So, back to the question or thought rather, Do supplements work for women with intestinal and transit problems, like they do with me? Thank you for all you do! Deaf Betsy x ( Formally an LA woman)

Is Niacin and Nicotinamide the same thing? Great video
@robynreid21
@robynreid21 Жыл бұрын
Nicotinamide, sometimes known as niacinamide, acts similarly to niacin but has a different molecular structure. This subtle difference allows nicotinamide to bypass the step that causes niacin's annoying flushing, providing the benefits of vitamin B3 without making you self-conscious.

@YoungrbyStefaniKappelMD Dr Kappel I came across a study from 2015 published in the National Library of Medicine. They saw physical improvements from taking 20mg Accutane 3x a week for 12 weeks. If you know what study I mean, how would you cycle this? Do the 20mg x3 a day for 12 weeks once a year? 2x a year? Would repeated cycling continue to improve the collagen and elastin fiber health/production? The results under the microscope with the increase and quality of collagen is pretty amazing. I know you research your stuff heavily, but I wondered why you choose 20mg one time a month for your test? How will you be assessing your improvement(s)? Thanks!

For marine collagen I use purple sea moss, I consume two tablespoons spoons daily. Purple sea moss paradise is a company I trust. Do not boil it I just rinse it 4x then soak and blend until gel like. Not too much water when blending . It takes a little while to mix.

I also found your mention of molecular hydrogen very interesting and my quick google search showed that it could be beneficial for people with psoriasis. I'd love to figure out a way to bathe in it or use as a facial mist, but only found one japanese company which makes tablets to put into water for bathing. The oral molecular hydrogen I found appears to be made of 80mg of magnesium. If I already take magnesium, I wonder if I'm getting the same benefits?

I too wish you would tell us your specific brands -- let people make up their own minds and deal with their budgets, there are zillions of brands out there and who has time to read all the ingredients, etc. ? I remember a Consumer Report that said over 75% vitamins didn't even absorb, the brands were no good and gave us 'expensive pee' so please feel free to tell us YOUR preferences and know that people will choose what they want anyhow. Thanks for not being sponsored, so many KZbinrs have sold out.
