Camu Camu powder is an exceptionally rich source of vitamin C. Various sources indicate that one teaspoon (5 grams) of Camu Camu powder contains approximately 500 mg of vitamin C. Therefore, consuming about 5 grams (roughly one teaspoon) of the powder would provide around 500 mg of vitamin C.

Hello Dr. Gundry. At about minute 20 into the podcast, you mention a bacterium that can convert elagic acid into urolithin-A. Can you tell us what that bug is!? I consume a fair amount of pomegranate juice, and walnuts; it would be nice to find out how to convert all that elagic acid in them to the urolithin-A. P.S. This is a very helpful podcast; and your new "Gut Check" book it wonderful--your best yet in my opinion. All the best, and thank you so much.

From NCBI. Urolithin A, a natural metabolite derived from ellagitannins, is biosynthesized by the gut microbiota [11,12], It is a type of compound known as urolithins, which are present in pomegranates and certain other fruits and nuts such as strawberries, walnut kernels, and peanuts.Oct 19, 2023

Good information as always! I have had a gluten free diet for a long time, along with no soy protein. They are horrible for my problem. I did not know that lectins found in grains were so bad, so, now I am starting a grain free diet too, and taking L glutamine, prebiotics and prebiotics. I see a difference, but still a long way to go. I have noticed that since I started taking probiotics, I pee some gray stuff, I assume it is the probiotics. Would you clarify that in any of your videos in the future, please?

Dr. Gundry, Re: Vitamin C, we’ve been patiently asking you for a very long time to please address the allegation that synthetic vitamin C (ascorbic acid) does not have the same benefits as the full vitamin C complex. It does not, for example, facilitate the construction of collagen to repair damaged blood vessels. AKA scurvy. For some reason, you consistently refuse to answer this question. Please communicate why you refuse to address this important issue. It’s very unsettling that you will not address the issue. Secondly, please address the evidence that the reason we turned off vitamin C production is that we evolved a superior mechanism to recycle it. All animals who lost the ability to make vitamin C also have the Glut-1 transporter. Recycling vitamin C is more efficient than making vitamin C from scratch like other animals do. research paper: Glut-1 explains the evolutionary advantage of the loss of endogenous vitamin-C synthesis: The electron transfer hypothesis video: Felix Harder: Do Humans Need More Vitamin C Because We Can’t Make It? 2024-01-18
