Tried out a new filming/editing format with this project. A little faster paced and some voiceover commentary. I'm hoping that it's more helpful in general and answers a lot of the questions that I usually get. My end goal is to be as valuable and helpful to you all as possible so let me know if this is working!

James Coil I thought that was weird, since the belt is two layers, he could have just done the same thing in the outer layer of the belt, glued it to the liner and called it done..... not sure which method I prefer, would need to see one of each next to each other and try both on......
@DevOpsNerd

Nice job. I have to cut the belt end taper first in case I screw it up. At least then it's right at the beginning. lol. I saddlestitch the whole thing...that sewing machine looks great. The sewn on loop backing is an awesome idea. Beats cutting holes in the belt itself. I'm about to start a shotgun shell belt and will use that.

It must be wonderful to have an entire professional leather shop to work in! I've been doing leatherwork as a hobby for 50 some odd years, using only hand tools, and buying my leather as I needed it, rather than having large stocks of it. I've made gunbelts and holsters(I made a western-style rig, including fake cartridges, for a steampunked Nerf gun) and, as both a medieval AND black powder recreator, sword scabbards, knife sheaths, axe/tomahawk holders, shooting bags, quivers, many different types of pouches and belt/shoulder bags, bracers, jackware, and even leather armor!

.... more please. L handed and shoot western.... Have worked leather professionally for many years and can offer a tip or two if it works better for you. When gluing liners to any belt, use your elbow to hold the end down and stretch the liner out as much as you can when pressing the two together. Makes for a natural curve and prevents wrinkles in the liner. Another one is when cutting out curves drop the edge of your thumb down and use it to help guide your blade and keep a perpendicular cut. You be making perfect circles. Good job.... I'd wear it proudly.

I never comment on KZbin but this will be this first because it’s important, I love your work and I know you are missing out on a lot of sales not selling gun belts and holsters, like one of your videos said, craftsman sell a product you can never find anywhere else...well I only came across this video looking for one because I can’t find any that are high quality online or a craftsman near by to build me a custom one. I’m stuck in having to buy somewhere else but hopefully in the future you can sell and play a big part in the gun community, anyways I love your work and I’ll support you and buy a wallet and maybe some other good I might like. Thanks again keep up the great work, never seen anyone take so much pride to explain in so much detail in their work and list literally everything to help others in this field

Thanks Aaron! It's great to have the approval from a CFDA member. I would love to learn more about making an official fast draw holster. It requires a lot more in the build, like including raw hide or steel for a deflector and more structure. Also, there are tricks to keeping the holster down on the belt when you draw. I don't have any of that. This is a very simple rig but it's really fun for just playing around. If you learn any tricks for official fast draw rigs i'd love to hear them. Thank you!

@@whitandparkI know a couple of tricks for that, I'm working on getting them built. however, I lack most of the tools required, and I'm a Greenhorn when it comes to leathercrafting. I'm working on one right now, though I doubt it will have the craftsmanship, or consistency of your products! Anywho, I will keep you posted and up to date if you would like?
