Also, you were so right about side chain compression, dude. In EDM it’s a must. Also, I’m pleasantly surprised how much of a difference it makes on hip-hop vocals. It really makes them stand out in the mix. It’s good to add a high pass filter though so it’s subtle if you know what I mean. I wonder if all the well known hip-hop producers side chain vocals.

Hey! Thanks so much for all your videos! Every time I have a thought of “how would I do X in reason though?” (Just now it was the individual mix outs for battery) and every time you have a video explaining it. Also, thank you so much for keeping your videos short! I know for a fact it’s easier said that done, every time it’s been problem-watch vid- sorted-back to music making. Love that! I’ve been making tunes with reason since last February, I found it very friendly for someone like me who usually just wants to plug in a guitar, use a drum machine, guitar vst and not much else. I’m starting to see that under the hood of reason there’s a really scary amount of stuff going on that my head can’t figure out, mainly when trying to incorporate external vst’s and hardware. I haven’t done myself any favours, Last week I bought a proper music production pc, the full reason license, komplete 13, a komplete kontrol a25! On top of that I’m now streaming from OBS instead of my phone, and was trying to figure all that out! Anyway just wanted to say thanks. Oh yeah, so I just stream myself making music, and I have a space for images that shout out people I know doing cool things. If you have a little promo banner or image I’d like to put it in there too if you want? Much love Scott

Have you tried uad Spark + reason? I haven’t been able to get any of the plugins to open

Nope, Spark is a VST3 plugin, so Reason won't run it.

Good video, guy. Although I use VSTs in Reason from time to time, I still feel that by Rewiring to Logic or importing the midi to it and using the Reason Plugin gives you a way cleaner sound. The sound in Reason is much better than it is in FL Studio though. That’s for a certainty.

Hmm, I haven't noticed a major difference between rewiring to logic and using the plugin. Is there perhaps a gain staging problem?

Ok cool now I have a question when you click open for the Plugin its tiny as hell to see. How do you fix this? This is in Reason 12 by the way. Because Reason 11 doesn't have this issue.

Can you help me? I've downloaded my VST accordingly, but in the 'Manage Plugins' folder no plugin is seen at all. What can be the problem?

Are the plugins properly installed? Are they compatible with Reason? Try them out in another DAW first to make sure they're working. If that doesn't work, contact the manufacturer.

Some of the vst's I have installed in vers.10 are enabled in the plugin manager but will not open?

They may be VST 3, which is not currently compatible with Reason. Or they may be 32-bit, which aren't compatible either.

Thanks Evan. Have Reason 12+ for over a yr now. Still can't get NI komplete 13 into DAW. Very disappointed. Would appreciate any advice on this matter. It doesn't recognize NI. I've downloaded Slate DDS 5 and it works great. But I have as of yet been able to play or record Komplete 13 in my Reason DAW. Very disappointed! Thanks for your time.

Hi Steve, it definitely works with komplete, I use it a lot. Try reaching out to NI support. Not sure why you are having trouble with it

Native Instruments had all the best u-he synthesizers on sale a month ago, and every one of them sound amazeballs. Currently Hive and Diva are my favorites.

Would you happen to know if there is a way to drag audio files into the vst when they are open? Example, if I am using serato sample is there a way to grab the file and just drop it into the vst instead of loading and searching through the folders to find the file I just previews in the browser area?

Unfortunately you have to browse within the VST as far as I know.

You can either put Ozone on the master bus or create a mix channel with Ozone and route the other channels through it.

They do have to be 64 bit unfortunately. I still use Mojave so I can use 32 it plugins that are irreplaceable! When Apple starts applying common sense to their decisions in future updates, that’s when I’ll update, haha.
