I’ll ask the question again …What happens to all the council tax ? Questions need to be asked as it’s obvious that it isn’t going back into the infrastructure, we are being robbed left, right and centre . Anyone would think all this destruction was intentional..surely not ! 😡

There’s a big scheme about to take place where they paint everything rainbow coloured,, and that costs a lot of money, there’s even talk about issuing rainbow bins to everyone, not sure how the recycling will work out tho! 😮

Terraced houses were built to house the tens of thousands of factory workers in Stokes heyday. Cheap housing for factory fodder . Then the factories closed and the terraces had no real purpose anymore .

There is still room for improvement it seems in this area. But compared to the "abject squalor" of what we have recently witnessed, this is i think at least slightly better. But the "full renovation" of the areas that have fallen by the wayside needs to continue!!
@hobouk38717 ай бұрын
The £1 house scheme could have worked if the council promoted it and regenerated the area. Unfortunately like everything around this dump it was abandoned and left to go wrong. 7:55 people dont have a sense of pride for there properties now, it maybe rental but they can still keep it clean and tidy. 9:35 Nice 🙂

Got memories of going to the old Tesco's when I was growing up, and going to that closed down 360 bar on the corner when it was a decent old school pub, and not a theme bar when I turned drinking age. Hanley was always a bit rough around the edges when I knew it in the 80's and 90's... but it always had decent shops, and not a bad nightlife. I'm sad to say that it looks like a slum now, and I feel for the people who still live in the Potteries.

I’m trying to think what bar 360 was called before I for the life of me I can’t remember 😩it was a good old pub then you had the star pub and the lamb inn just around the corner of it.

used to live in Lowther, then Denbigh Street ('82 - '87) it was bad then but this is horrible decay, the pub was in a permanent cycle of open-close-open-close , the corner newsagent closed, the corner off license closed horrible place

@@DJMtv1938 years ago I passed by the pub, walking from the train station to visit my mother, there was a body on the pavement, i called for an ambulance, the poor fella was in a stupor due to smoking Mamba - the little "park" there used to have a fair old smattering of used hypodermics some might have bought a house there for £1 - I hope they received change

I feel very sorry for the people who did buy for £1 and were told the whole area was going to be regenerated and flooded with young professionals. If anything the area went worse 😞

It's better than what it was and it's still bad my mum gets no bother there tbh she doesn't wish to stay there but it's OK for now I hate going there at night especially the back alley way that leads on to burger King the council have again failed us
