I had an off dream last night about being in a city and being hunted. When I woke up I must have still been thinking about the dream. A few years back I read about groups that were in a few different cities that taught civilians how to escape and evade in cities. I got the impression the ones who started this were former US Military. As you went through the school you would be dropped off somewhere in the city, your assignment was to get to a safe location. At the same time other members of the group were out looking for you to pick you up. When you passed the class you became a member of the teaching group to help others learn and to advance your own learning. It sounded like an interesting idea.

Everything in the kit makes much sense and has a lot of utility. The great thing too, is that most of those items are small so a compact pouch provides the optimum container. Maximum utility, minimum space. Thanks for the tips.

Just a thought. I carry my handcuff key either in my back pocket or tucked into the back of my pants in a tiny little baggie I can tie to my belt loop so I don't lose it. If you're going to be handcuffed, it will probably be behind your back, so the key needs to be accessible from there. Again, just a thought.

As with any and all PERSONAL kits, what goes in is what works for you, and why you have it. Top, all your videos have a tactical edge, which is great. Being a civilian, my kit is geared toward "Gray man" stealth (avoiding detection and evading, any bad guys), in an effort to find a good hiding place, and wait for things to cool down. Never the less, there are certain things every kit should have, you cover them. There were several items I've never seen or heard of before, like the special line. See, I've learned something new again, That's why STOKERMATIC is out there. ;-)

IN a situation like this remember ,your water needs if you have a headache/mucle cramps its dehydration/low salts, an idea is to keep salt tablets/electrolyte tabs/gum/powders, and another use for a chapp stick or vaseline is to coat up your knife blades to keep them protected from the elements because blades coated with 3 in 1 oil or wd40 will contaminant any food you prepare.

Great video, presented with a bit of oomph ! Lots of good ideas. I find that the stainless steel US artic canteen cup, the weird oblong one, is fantastic for including a kit, great for boiling water and digging, also fantastic for protecting smaller, more delicate items. It's squarish shape makes sure it fits well into most pouches. A bargain, if you can get one.

Fascinating video. I have to admit I was surprised to see you cut the tree for your spear so far up. Everybody sees that from distance....cut at ground level it could be camouflaged or at least someone would have to walk right up on it to see it. I was also surprised your kit didn't have Preparation H....( because it seems all that would be a real pain in the ass) P.S.- On a serious note. I started hunting alone around 9 or 10 years old. I'm 65 now. I never gave things a second thought until around 2000. My fear was walking into a clearing and surprising a couple of meth heads doing some shake n bake, or a truck full of guys harvesting their plants. Either way it could become a running gun fight. Having a few things on you may not be a bad idea. Some say luck is what's leftover when necessity meets preparedness. I think too much is never enough.

I know there’s countless videos out on fire making but, not on your channel. So..fat wood, mushrooms….it’s a wee bit different for me in the northeast, but natural tinder is pretty universal. One I’ve never seen on a KZbin video (maybe with darn good reason 🤷🏻‍♂️), is how the Vikings would collect a fungus called touchwood from tree bark and boil it for several days in urine before pounding it into something akin to felt. It was a fire starter source. There’s lots of different ones but rarely does anyone focus on the multitude of fire starters or carriers, that exist naturally. It’s always fire source, lighter, matches, flint and steel…not kindle source. Just a thought. 👊🏻🇺🇸

To put things behind (or even in) your patch, especially if it`s the US flag is pretty known by now. In my pov if you`t use a ceramic blade for this you sould go way smaller. The S&W Handcuff Key: It can be a big pro to cut an angle to the point of it you you can it insert eayerr when handcuffed. That`s especialyl the case when it`s behind your back. Ed Calderon aka Eds Manifesto has things on this and other things. Two of his videos on yt: "Ed Calderon Teaches Navy SEAL How To Escape from Zip Ties" "Ed Calderon's Everyday Carry (EDC) Pocket Dump with a Navy SEAL" ceramic blade at 47 min < I think you should think more of the "urbanised" setting. Look how WW2 POW camps looked like. Have a way to get through a wire fence or maybe even a window with wire bars. There is a story out there of someone escaping extremists in syria through such a window after cutting the bars over days and covering it up. Diamond wire saws work for that (and also for other than the standard handcuffs or other metal restrains and can even be smuggled on or in a person. Stay safe.

Just a suggestion … I’m sure you get tons of them … but I’d include a *small* set of fingernail clippers. Most have a key hole on the end. You could attach one to your small container of Advil that you showed at 4:18 and your small container already had a key ring on it. Obvious use is for clipping and cleaning fingernails and toenails in the field (foot hygiene). Has other obvious uses though as well. The other item I would pack is a small set of tweezers. Splinters can be awful in the field. Just my two cents.

I'd like to offer a twist on the blade between the patch and the velcro. You can also open one end of the patch where it attaches to the hook back, just open one end, leave the other 3 sides sewn to the patch. You can slide a blade actually in the patch. So even if the patch gets removed, nothing is revealed or falls out, it's inside the patch. :)

Great gear and explanations. As a still serving light infantry dude it makes me cry a bit to say I would (personal preference) not equip the camo cream. Use charcoal or mud, neck warmer instead. My thought is a lot of our E&E may be through urban areas and to help not stand out when on the move, no camo cream. Could fill that space in your kit with other objects.

Swiss army SD keychain knife with scales removed (scissors blade and file with screwdriver tip).. six waterproof matches and striker.. miniature Ferro rod ... Band-Aid +large bandage+ ointment ... A water bag in 4 water purification tablets...25ft of #90 Paracord .. fishing kit (three hooks..power bait..sinker & Spyderwire line ).. miniature dog tag signal mirror... Plastic handcuff key... Meds kit (four 80mg aspirin .. Advil. Benadryl.. anti-diarrheal) (1day supply MY meds ) .. small zipper pull compass and second button compass.... A small razor knife.. small hacksaw blade.... Razor blade in buckle compartment.. I would probably carry a mylar emergency blanket in my pocket along with a regular edc knife. How does that IR light work?, ive never seen one, although i do have an IR light built into my Sidewinder 90° lapel light, that gizmo was interesting. As you may know the Military uses low frequency transmitters/Receivers in the Hz range (Hertz) Shortwave. With that battery, the file on your leatherman, or even the saw back of a rigid survival knife you can send morse code effectively at fairly decent ranges, you can also use the safety pin and the battery to tap code that a SW (shortwave) receiver can decipher!🇺🇸👍

8:35 Can you do all this if your hands are restrained behind your back? Not everyone can pull their feet over the restraints to get them to the front.

Here in California there appears to be not only a tick problem but also a tick born parasite (California Gold rush video). How do you prepare for and prevent tick and other pest problems before and after bugging out, camping, etc? Incidentally I didn't see you wearing any leggings or cuff protectors or straps.

Don’t wear them up here. Try stockings to help prevent ticks.

Try treating your clothing with sayer permethrin insect repellent. It works a long time and wont wash out if operating in wet environments.

Remember guys, when you have to tie someone's hands make sure you tie them in front of their body so they can get the tools to get free.

Good information but you left the house with a blue shirt. Blue is the only color that is not found in any forest. I'm a fan and a Subscriber

Ibuprofen is almost never included. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and if you have swelling ibuprofen would reduce swelling to bring range of motion to a more acceptable level
