The DeLeo brothers are criminally underrated as musicians and songwriters.
@andrewlaw56285 жыл бұрын
Beyond underrated. These two guys are brilliant personified!! Their tunes are instant classics and timeless!! Their choices in tones and sonic's is second to none. Timbre of everything is so evenly matched. Jeff Gutt is so damm good its scary. I can.only hope STP sticks around for many , many , many years!!
@andrewlaw56285 жыл бұрын
@Mike Conville , Weiland , was indeed an integra part of stp. No doubt. Without the brothers he had nothing
@andrewlaw56285 жыл бұрын
@Mike Conville , dude, those records were mediocre at best. Songwriting was far subpar as were some of the performances... yes, we could debate for days about it, its very subjective. That said, Scott Weiland, himself said in an interview from the Miami Herald " Well, there is a magic when the four of us write together...like some sort of gel dust falls from the sky and allows us to create some magic! The DeLeo Brothers are the core of this band, always have and always will be. To be honest , Im happy I can contribute to the process that is Stone Temple Pilots!!" That is from the man himself. Its pretty honest and also pretty truthful. Dave, si ger from Talk Show , ssid something similar. To paraphrase HIS quote... Its pretty simple to shine when Dean and Rob are in the band. I mean, its about as blatant as it gets. Ialso happwnd ro like Talk Show and a few cuts from Weilands silo efforts but, to say Scott was STP. Well, like saying Roth was Van Halen. Sorry dude, facts are amd always will be facts. The DeLeo Brothers are masters at their craft and are mainly responsible for their own success. Need further proof just look to their new tunes. New guy is fucking unreal and more than does justice...even.wrote the stellar Art of Letting Go. My point is that DeLeos form the nucleus of the bamd and everything else is gravy. Without their foundation it would be nothing
@andrewlaw56285 жыл бұрын
@Mike Conville , made what happen? He was a charismatic frontman, Brilliantly gifted lyricist and awesome melody maker. He was given music to sing over and he wrote melodies and words. Thats an amazing accomplishment. Trouble is that once again, without the DeLeo brothers he was a dude with gifts and nowhere to use them. You debate facts. Thats hatd to argue with. I admire your loyalty but strongly amd factually disagree. Joke is in you!

STP became my fav band when I was 17 (I'm 33 now), their extremely diverse catalogue from heavy stuff like "Sex type thing", "where the river goes" or "no way out" to sweet melodies as "and so I know", "about a fool" or the whole Shangri-la Dee da album made me a big fan. Also them Deleo are great at musicians, explored different genres as bossa Nova and gave a lot of beauty to so many great, underrated songs of theirs...not to mention Scott's voice could do literally anything he wanted when he was in his prime, his vocal range was tremendous. What a great band, imo way beyond the unfair "grunge label" they received at the beginning, much more sofisticated and diverse than any band that came from Seattle (STP didn't). They are still my N1 band, even though I've heard so many stuff from Zeppelin to F. Liszt and from Nirvana to Tom Jobim

They definitely are fools. It's pissing me off that it's been over 2 years and more than half the songs they've put out have been poorly promoted. They only play the hits at concerts. I honestly think they don't care anymore. Or they don't realize what they have with Jeff Gutt. A once in a lifetime damn good replacement.
@maffieduran2 жыл бұрын
@@lostz2754 If they put more effort, they'd turn Jeff into an icon just as big as Scott and Chester. He deserves bettter, he truly does. Not sure who is to blame tho
@The-Mediator2 жыл бұрын
It takes money to promote through traditional media channels. But it takes less money to promote through social media channels. They need to hire a really good social media marketing/brand specialist. Also, Jeff needs to do A LOT more podcast/YT/Tiktok/radio station interviews and educate the audience on who he is a person, a frontman. He also needs a little edge. He needs to tap into his inner bad boy which all men have in them; so he shouldn’t pretend he doesn’t have one because of his Christian music background.

So smooth in every way! Poetic genius & melodic masterpiece makes for musical perfection. The DeLeo brothers find a way to add Jazz flavor to everything they do. No one in history has ever successfully blended Jazz with Rock-n- roll to create a sound so unique and perfect. It is disguised so well that most won't even detect it. They are the true genius Rock Band of their error. I 💘 THIS SONG!

So im not in love with her anymore but I still remember that i would have given anything for her love. Thats all that is left....just a memory and a fading one at that.....every year it gets harder and harder to remember what she looks like or the sound of her voice. i am now 49 years old and I dont try to date women anymore.....in tribute to the one true love i miss, I will stay single for the rest of my life.
