My four year old niece is FASCINATED by this movie. A WHOLE FAMILY of superheroes! It's hitting both her "family role play" AND superhero fixations and if The Incredibles had a princess in it, I think it would make her brain explode. Can't wait until she can read so I can get her into some kid-friendly comics. Right now, she mostly watches the various DC Animated webseries. Including, yes, the Superhero Girls.

So Screenslaver is basically the Riddler from Batman Forever?
@SpongeyTheEditor6 жыл бұрын
Eh, Syndrome was closer to Riddler in terms of backstory.
@IgnatiusThorogood6 жыл бұрын
Spongey444 That's true, but Screenslaver's evil plan in this is nearly identical to Riddler's plan in that movie.

Thats probably while The part of this movie I legitimately liked was the villain. I like villians having a goal that small scale, relatively, that have wider philosophical significance. She like the rest of the movie suffered sadly from the ham handed dialogue.
@JeffDoyen6 жыл бұрын
But the villain in Incredibles 2 came up with the Screenslaver character, meanwhile Edward Nigma stole his alter ego from his collection of that Riddler character.
@JadoDog6 жыл бұрын
Naw, they never found out about Jack-Jack in the first movie. The babysitter left a voicemail for them, but it was really incoherent to them and they forgot about it cause Syndrome showed up. Then when Jack-Jack freaked out on Syndrome, he transformed to normal just in time for Elastigirl to save him.
@ToastyMozart6 жыл бұрын
I mean she probably still saw the _flames_ coming off him.
@MontyPythonFanatic26 жыл бұрын
ToastyMozart Jack-Jack’s actually only on fire for a few seconds, most of it was him going demonic on Syndrome’s ass. And Syndrome was already too high up for Helen and Bob to see what was going on, all Helen says is “something’s happening” when Syndrome stops ascending, and then they get distracted trying to figure out how to save Jack-Jack.
@Wawagirl176 жыл бұрын
Exactly. They never discovered it, and really, that dude who wiped the babysitter's memory really should've TOLD them their infant has about 20 different dangerous abilities. ;)

I thought I heard that the Jack Jack short explains about his powers. I know this wayyy late but just saying
@EZ-IZZY19956 жыл бұрын
I think the thing that is somewhat hypocritical of Helen in this film is the fact that Bob was super distant from his family in the first one due to obsessing about being a super again. He had to learn to rely on them as much as they relied on him.But it wasnt just a lesson for him, it was a lesson for Helen too. She had anger issues in the first one and had to learn how to be calm and relay information to her kids calmly, firmly and lovingly. She had to learn to understand her husbands point of view, instead of being the stereotypical wife. Ultimately they had to learn how to be a TEAM. This film just flips roles and almost renders the first one useless. Honestly, as much as i loved the first one, I almost wish there wasnt a sequel.

I saw incredibles 2 as part of that double feature regal was doing. It’s not that I didn’t love the hell out of 2, and I did love the hell out of 2, it’s just that,for me at least, the first one was so damn good that the sequel would have to be like dark knight levels to beat it. Also, without spoilers, I’ll say jack jack is EASILY the best part.
@TiredRoman6 жыл бұрын
jack jack was the worst part for me. The humor scenes with him were so disjointed from the rest of the movie and even more so from the first one. Everything he touched became like a looney toons short. That would be fine as comedy shorts that pixar put out on the side or something. But being in a movie where everything else was comparably serious and realistic, pulled me out of the movie each time hard.
@TiredRoman6 жыл бұрын
I took it as seriously as the first film was. This isn'y loonie toons, just because the characters happen to be animated doesn't mean that the story isnt serious.
@mikethegrunty59686 жыл бұрын
Aquillia because there was absolutely no goofy comedy in the first one, like, say, a montage of superheroes being killed because they wore capes, or elastigirls lower half being caught in a door, or frozone bickering with his wife over his supersuit, or mr incredibles interactions with the kid in his drive way, or dash using his super speed to put a tack on his teachers chair, or the “ no force fields” scene.
@TiredRoman6 жыл бұрын
They were funny because of character interaction or in the case of the cape thing because it was a montage. but none of them were goofy or required animals to people characters.
@mikethegrunty59686 жыл бұрын

Second viewing helps a lot. I saw it twice and I noticed that when Elastagirl goes into Screenslavers apartment as she’s opening the door he’s standing *right next to the door* and it freaked me out. Yeah the villain is pretty immediately obvious, I think the brothers over animated face was to make you believe he was the villain but still. Elastagirls story line is a lot more enjoyable the second time around.

Hmm... Do you have anything to calm your photosensitivity? If so, take it before you go see this movie. If not, if this movie comes out on blu ray, watch the movie in a place where there are soft lights. Like watch it in a room with a desk lamp or in your living room.
@artistwithouttalent6 жыл бұрын
12:35 It's something they're working on. The shorts that come before the movie serve as a kind of tech demo for what they're focusing on in terms of animation, and that was absolutely the case for the short ahead of this one (😭😭😭) Call your parents, kids. 24:11 Not even at _Bao?_ Just got out of the movie. It was good. Very good. The issue is that the first one exists, which naturally draws comparison. And while it's been a while, unless I am seriously misremembering things, I think the original was better. SPOILERS AHEAD I didn't mind the direction this took (I thought the Mr. Mom "oh look at the man failing to parent" was dealt with well, in that they dealt with it and moved on.) I liked a greater focus on Elastigirl (although I feel like there's a pretty good, if not better story, in her and everyone else's past and I wish we could've seen more of it.) I feel like maybe Edna Mode was a little bit Flanderized here (although ultimately well used.) My main issue was the villain. While she had a point (like most good villains,) she took it to an absolutely batshit conclusion using a ridiculous plan. And beyond her philosophy, I feel like she was very underdeveloped.
@artistwithouttalent6 жыл бұрын
Barn Owl Entertainment Well, they said it was right after they'd been made illegal, and in the first movie they mentioned that Gazerbeam didn't want to integrate. I just don't think her plan makes any sense. She blames superheroes for her parents' deaths because her dad made the decision to try and call them rather than go into their safe room, so she wants to make sure superheroes are illegal to make people take responsibility for themselves... profit? I mean, they were already illegal, and if her brother fought her on the matter, she can hypnotize him.

The villain turn was obvious, I thought, more so because of who the previous villain was in the other movie, rather than because of telegraphing. I called it the second they walked on screen, because of the contrast with Syndrome's motivation and personality. That said, I feel they weren't trying to hide it from us as much as giving us the clues to figure it out, since Elastigirl uses the same clues.

I'm so glad you guys ripped the Wreck-It-Ralph 2 trailer a new asshole. That is the most self-indulgent cringefest I've seen in a very long time. It is incredible when you can make a trailer where every single joke is lampshading your own companies cliches. I lost it at that "Do people think all your problems are solved by a big strong man?" joke. Yes Disney, we know you used to use the "woman in danger" plot way too much in your old movies. It's the same issue I had with Bethesda doing that Skyrim: Super Special Edition trailer during E3. Yeah, you can joke until the sun comes down about you doing porting Skyrim to every console while ignoring your fan's request for Elder Scrolls 6, but your still the company that did that very thing for years.
@JBWarner866 жыл бұрын
I'm way less worried about Wreck-It Ralph 2 than either of you are. First of all, Disney trailers always kind of suck - Tangled, Frozen, Zootopia, they all had pretty shitty trailers and they turned out great. They sold the first Wreck-It Ralph exclusively on the cameos with barely any hint of a story, and this is no different. (Also, I guarantee the Knowsmore scene and the Oh My Disney scene are going to be nowhere near each other in the movie proper - trailers staple random scenes together like that all the time.) Second, Rich Moore is back as the director. The guy's a veteran of The Simpsons and Futurama, and he directed both the first Wreck-It Ralph and Zootopia, so he knows better than to make this movie just 90 minutes of Internet jokes and Disney references. We're in good hands here. I know people are still traumatized from The Emoji Movie, but that was Sony Pictures Animation, a studio without nearly as much creative ingenuity as Disney's got right now. Have a little bit of faith in these guys, c'mon.

Didn’t really care much for this sequel unfortunately. There were too many subplots that either didn’t go anywhere interesting or got resolved as quickly as they were introduced. Dash gets nothing to do. This sequel apparently forgot that Violet went through a character arc in the first movie. Edna is reduced to a two scene cameo. The big villain twist was predictable. The villian’s overall motivation and plan doesn’t make any damn sense and feels so cookie cutter and generic compared to Syndrome’s motivation and plan in the original. Also, the third act sadly degernates into a bland, by the numbers superhero movie climax that ultimately end on such a thrown together note. Just stick with the original. It’s better written, smarter, and way more tighter than this dumpster fire of a follow up.
