Tango and Cash is one of the best last movies of the 80s, and I truly believe that no matter what, the cinema snob will always be better than the nostalgia critic.
@davidthorson20365 жыл бұрын
As a kid of that time period this movie checked all the boxes. Big action stars, great villians, explosions and guns galore, quips and one-liners, and that truck they drive at the end was/is one of the coolest movie vehicles ever. Oh, and that scene where they interrogate Brion James on the rooftop is still pretty funny.

All that movie was missing was an angry black commissioner and a scene where Nick Nolte wakes up hungover, and it’d be the 80s action movie prototype.

Watched this a few weeks ago (the boyfriend took advantage of my thing for '80s Kurt Russell and his liking of showing me new films), and I'm STILL convinced that this is the story of a married cop couple who are living apart/whose relationship has lost its spark, and it takes being framed for murder to get that spark back. I accept no other synopsis.

Disappointed that you didn't point out that the scene where Stallone stops a truck is pretty much a shot-for-shot recreation of a similar scene from Jackie Chan's Police Story (1985). Then again, I didn't know that Harold Faltermeyer's actual first name is Hans until after watching this video.

Snob, I have one criticism with your criticism of this movie. They made it clear in the film why the villain Perret goes through the trouble of framing Tango and Cash instead of simply killing them: Tango and Cash were renowned heroes of the city, and killing them would turn them into martyrs. He had to destroy their reputations first.

Man, every time I see Savely Kramarov in an American movie I become sad. The man is a genius actor, but the only work he got in Hollywood movies after emigrating was comedic bit roles or side characters. And the saddest part is that he died just as he had a lead role lined up.
