In the food places I go to, you get employees who won't give you enough for your meal or ones who will give you a long-term supply. When you run into the give you enough for armageddon employee you have to use that as an opportunity to save packets for when the employee who thinks they're rationing for the great recession is working. Employees either don't care because it's not their money or they're control freaks who want to monitor how many sauces you get.

@drewski217 I feel you. I was a training director for Chick-fil-A for many years and it was a little different there but at some of the other places I've worked we had to charge and we checked it during inventory to make sure the money and the number of items sold matched, we also watched cameras and had to write up employees for things such as giving away certain food items without charging. I love this man. I remember years ago, McDonald's was charging people for water. Water. In a small ass plastic cup. 25 cents. In the middle of drop dead summer heat. I was so pissed. I walked out and didn't go back for years, and when I did I only went after I asked if the water was free 🤷🏽♀️ but now I hardly ever. Companies are so ridiculously greedy. It's sad. On the flip side, I had someone at the register buy me a drink when all I asked for was water, and said "We need to take care of each other." What's so hard about this greedy corporate? 🤔🤷🏽♀️

People take advantage of free. Also, the amount of scholarships and promotions are directly related to profits. It's not all bad but yes they are greedy. It's a business, not a charity. I'm just saying it's not a black and white situation. A lot of grey area.
@spracketskooch2 жыл бұрын
The people who run those huge corporations have literally let people starve. During the great depression there was a guy who ran a food company, I forget his name. The people were too poor to buy his food, so instead of saying, "you know what I'm in a position to help these starving people, let me charge reduced prices or give away my companies food for free", he gathered up all the excess food, poured kerosene on it, and lit it on fire.

@@alexandercanella4479 An organization doesn't have to be a charity in order to not nickel and dime people to death. And yes, some people take advantage of free, but not nearly as much as corporations take advantage of the working class and the poor. Those scholarships and promotions are a drop in the bucket compared to the salaries those profits support for those in the C-suite and upper management. It's like comparing a basket of apples to an entire orchard. Very little in life is black and white, but today's corporate greed is in no way justified, no matter what "scholarships and promotions" they offer. Charging someone for a cup of water is absurd, regardless of context.

Nah, those cards create more revenue for the business. The thought process behind it is “why go somewhere else when I can get a discount here” especially when they use a point system. Plus it also gives it a “consumer loyalty” narrative by default.

If you’re bothered about spending the dollar, order your food, ask for a box, and use the sauce you have at home. As a lifer in the bar and restaurant business, Togo orders take you away from serving the guests who pay and tip for your service. And honestly, that dollar goes to pay a business to keep the lights on, keep product on hand, pay someone’s wages, and hopefully defray a small bit of the flack we get from customers who demand the world bc they feel entitled to it.

The ffed up part is the prices for the sauce.. I live in belgium and it cost 70-90cnt per sauce (1-1.2 dollars) for a amount of sauce not even worth 5cnt if you would pinch it from your own bottle... Eff that! Fast food prices use to seem low, but if you know the math you know everything on the menu is a grifting price way above market prices added up with all the expenses and a reasonable profit. Its just planely greed disguised as "conveniency".
