In the food places I go to, you get employees who won't give you enough for your meal or ones who will give you a long-term supply. When you run into the give you enough for armageddon employee you have to use that as an opportunity to save packets for when the employee who thinks they're rationing for the great recession is working. Employees either don't care because it's not their money or they're control freaks who want to monitor how many sauces you get.

@drewski217 I feel you. I was a training director for Chick-fil-A for many years and it was a little different there but at some of the other places I've worked we had to charge and we checked it during inventory to make sure the money and the number of items sold matched, we also watched cameras and had to write up employees for things such as giving away certain food items without charging. People take advantage of free. Also, the amount of scholarships and promotions are directly related to profits. It's not all bad but yes they are greedy. It's a business, not a charity. I'm just saying it's not a black and white situation. A lot of grey area.

The people who run those huge corporations have literally let people starve. During the great depression there was a guy who ran a food company, I forget his name. The people were too poor to buy his food, so instead of saying, "you know what I'm in a position to help these starving people, let me charge reduced prices or give away my companies food for free", he gathered up all the excess food, poured kerosene on it, and lit it on fire.

It's like comparing a basket of apples to an entire orchard. A great prank my older daughter played on my Jinder daughter that I have on video from Taco Bell from 10 years ago: My younger daughter went to the bathroom. Now, I don’t like food tampering with pranks (but we are family and she could get a new cup.) The older opened a pack of picante sauce and opened the cup top. She then inserted the straw into the picante pack. She then shut the lid back on. Refilled with Pepsi. When my youngest daughter took an aggressive “sip” of PICANTE, Ahhhh man…. She was ready to trade us in for a nice family! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Cried, cried, and cried! Memories!

I use to work in a fast food place. A case of sauce cost about $30 for 100 cups. So it was basically .30 cents per sauce. We would go through 10-15 cases a week. So it adds up.

@@snoozley853 yeah I get it, running 4 or 5 items across a scanner to be the kind of work that's gonna effect the rest of your day I totally understand. Even if it's only 1 item and doing it yourself might be faster, there should be an employee there to beckon your every call and treat you like the 1 item king you are

Being a cashier for as long as I was is *exactly* why I go to self-check now. I know what I'm doing, and it's a lot faster.

I respect this I use to work at a grocery store for about 5 years as a cashier 2.5 years In they changed the rules that we had to say hi to people as they walked in even if we where ringing someone up. Got called out outta 10 coworkers. Idk how that works

I never understood that how people act like the sauce is coming out of their paycheck. Like the manager is counting the sauces at the end of their shift 🙈😂 Anytime I worked places I just gave people stuff 😎🥂
@lukelyon17813 жыл бұрын
Because they actually do. Sometimes the managers will literally stand over us to make sure we charge people for extra sauce.

@@dickhitswater4836 well some places are extremely stingy and upper management will literally fire you/chew you out/write you up if you don't charge for every little thing.
@dickhitswater48363 жыл бұрын
@@lukelyon1781 I know, that’s what’s so sad about it. Especially when at the end of the day tons of that stuff gets thrown away anyways, the manager certainly doesn’t get anything out of being like that and I highly doubt it effects mcdonalds bottom line. Crazy how a tiny bit of authority goes straight to someone’s head. It’s usually typical of someone who gets bullied at home whether it be by a spouse, kids or overbearing parents.
