Something about the buy a bag policy irked me. When I go to a computer store, purchase $nnn to $nnnn in products, I don't like to be forced to buy bags to get to my car trunk. I remember my late mother telling me to have my purchases in bags before exiting the store. Being in Boston, Massachusetts it is easy to cross city and town lines, and county lines in a 5 mile drive. Only in Newton did they do something sensible. No more plastic bags. Paper bags are supplied at no extra cost. A chain supermarket in Waltham will supply paper and plastic at no extra cost. Somerville, how many 10 cent reusable plastic bags do you want to add to your order? Sorry, not sorry all you once upon a time Split wood, not atoms types who are now beating your breast about the waste of newspapers being dead trees.

@@FloorEncer was split wood, not atoms a thing? I’ve never heard of that, what do they even mean by that? Like, make paper not bombs? How odd. I’d definitely say that the shipping and resetting of constant seasonal items alone do a lot more damage to our planet than end user bags but this way they have a cute little thing to put on a press release so that they can congratulate themselves. I often wonder if the higher up you get on a corporate ladder the more isolated from reality your world becomes. PLUS I bet that little charge per bag idea offset some of the projected outcomes in Q3 bc endless corporate profit is definitely as sustainable and positive as it gets, right?

No joke. I am a 55 year old Black man here in Chicago. A very young man told me after my exchange in the electronic department that we were cool. I had to explain that I need a bag and a receipt being a Blackman. It is a fact of life. He gave me a bag and my receipt. Only then did I feel comfortable walking through the store to the exit. I would not have moved from his counter until I received something that would overcome any potential encounters that never end well from my experience. When you get too comfortable , America will remind you of what it truly feels about your position as a citizen of this country.
