Hi Marisa! Your skin looks better and you look more energetic too. I'm glad for you, hope you'll get even better soon. I'm having a flare and it's so hard to go back to more strict diet. Still can't figure out what exactly it is, that triggers my eczema, but it's something between coffee, chocolate and some new supplements. So I'm restricting myself from all of them and it gives results. Recently I've decided to go less on skincare and I'm taking omega 3 with vitamin E, and I have to say, it helps greatly with dryness of the skin. I'm not treating my flares in any way but they heal by themselves, just from inside. You've asked about breakfast, that's really difficult for me too. I really loved eating dairy proteins in the morning, but my lactose intolerance threw it out the window... Quite often I'm snacking on sesame butter in the morning, it helps me with oils and calcium, maybe some protein, but not much. Another thing is some white fish like pollock, it tastes almost like eggs, but it's still harder too eat. I'm one of those, who can't tolerate eggs, so... Sometimes it's just one banana in the morning, but it won't last long. Oh! Buckwheat is quite fulfilling and rich in protein.

I've tried lots of supplements in the past but have whittled it down to a few necessary supplements. Vitamin D and K2, collagen, creatine, fish oil (amazing one that doesnt taste or smell like fish) and multivitamin tab. Supplements can be pricey and many dont really work. I also have psoriasis on my hands and elbows and have noticed the fish oil has really helped.

Diamine oxidase, the enzyme that breaks down histamine, has CHANGED MY LIFE. I used to get sooo sick from high hitsmine foods like tomato sauce, miso soup, and peanut oil, but didn't know why. It was a total game changer. Good luck !!!

Omg so excited to see the NAD patch! Starting Tru Niagen a couple years ago was THE NUMBER ONE GAME CHANGER OF MY HEALTH JOURNEY (so far). I think the benefits vary with your genetics, but my sleep was hot garbage trash before I started it and it revolutionized my sleep, energy, mental health, just sooooo much. I've tried dozens and dozens of things that did nothing - this didn't fix me but it got me 50% better at least. Can't live without it

Hi Marisa. 😂 People always ask me, what I do to lose weight, and I calmly and politely explain to them, that what works for me, might not work for them. Hell, I literally lose weight eating Chipotle, I just order the meat, half the amount of rice or no rice, and I have vegetables at home that I mix it with. The other advice I give them is to not drink their calories, ditch the lattes, for plain black coffee.

Your breakfast bowl looked fire!! Was it better than the chocolate smoothie bowl?

Hi Marisa, I think it will be so hard to not only limit histamine foods, but also processed. A good quality whey is so minimally processed - I would go for it if I were you. I just happened to watch a Dr. Mark Hyman video about histamines right before yours - it might be worth a watch. Do you plan on adding a natural DAO like Kidney extract - that might help. My breakfast is the same everyday and I Love it! Yogurt (yes, has histamines, but so many nutrients) a scoop of grass-fed vanilla whey, frozen 100% acai puree, golden flax meal, and my home made granola (oats, hemp seeds, EVOO and Maple Syrup, salt) . For skin - if you need something more moisturizing - Eucerin Eczema Relief is really nice. No steroids, and the ingredients aren't too bad.

What would you recommend for someone who has achieved their desired muscle mass but wants to lose a small amount of fat (about 5 lbs or so)?

High protein breakfast with your specifics may be difficult. Aren't farm fresh eggs low histamine? If you dont want that, then perhaps buckwheat pancakes or chia pudding may work.
@MissFitAndNerdy2 ай бұрын
The research seems to indicate that fully cooked eggs should be low histamine. BUT I’ve seen a LOT of people with histamine intolerance who react to eggs. So I don’t wanna be having 4 eggs for breakfast every day (which would be my default) just incase. I’m gonna stick to like 1-2 eggs per week

Have you heard of primal trust? There are many people who heal food intolerance with that work. I have rosacea. Diet never helped me - I actually noticed restricting food made it worse. I am guessing due to the stress/fear? Sorry you’re going through this. Skin stuff sucks.

I'd be interested on your take of the Minnesota Starvation Experiment. I've been listening to the Strong Sistas podcast series on the topic and it is fascinating! "Starvation" for the experiment was 1500 calories, which is interesting in and of itself. The latest podcast touches on histamines for a hot second. The experiment noted so many issues that are mainstream chronic problems these days. Most of what they discuss doesn't seem like it would apply to you, but would still be interested on your perspective. In an earlier podcast they also cover protein intake findings and compare to what was consumed under initial/normal (close to 3k calories) diets, which is less protein than expected.

I have histamine intolerance and I've tried every supplement under the sun but what really, truly helped me is a combination of Bromelaine and Quercetine. I take both supplements on a daily and within two months I am finally able to drink coffee and eat dark chocolate and other foods that would've given me a histamine overload for days usually. I know different supplements work different for everyone (DAO for example does nothing for me), but if you're struggling with histamine intolerance I'd highly recommend giving Bromelaine and Quercetine a shot.
