See Matt is a guy you should be listening to. World record holder, real world experience in what he does. Not dogmatic and sensitive like some of these exercise scientists. Great content Matt.

This is why I see people fail at attempts in meets and it goes by them tryna max out ,just like warm ups before the meet starts ,they actually are working out!

I like to do some sort of competition every 6 months or so to get the comp maxes. You learn a lot from competing and training to compete👍

Loving the pattern content. Been blending your training methodologies with a little bit of the Dr. Seth Albersworth’s modern conjugate and gains been going crazy. Squatted 250kg, Bench 190kg paused, deadlifted 300kg. Keep up the amazing work you do for the strength community Dr Matt 🫡

My 181, freak of nature 617.4S/342B/606D = 1565 total, competes every 10-12 weeks.Collegiate Lifter, He just competed last weekend. That being said; he will not touch a S/B/D for 4 weeks, maybe 5. He rest minimum of three days total, whilst I break everything down. Then he does iso/plyo work for a week, before we go into ''Unconventional lifting,'' for those 4-5 weeks, with iso/plyo, before we jump into the wave and, in the last month, we begin S/B/D work. He experiences 0 Strength loss, but actual Strength gain in the 3 leverages, because the leverages are rested, and we train the weaknesses discovered from the comp efforts. Next total will be probably a 60-70 pound total increase, in February.
