Soy and corn are in almost everything in the grocery- at least all the processed food. Not exclusively plant based products. For example I was eating kind bars a lot- because many seem healthy - nuts, seeds, etc. but I found out they have soy. 😢 Soy and corn are also in a lots of gluten free foods. I also found a packaged potato stew. The ingredients looked pretty clean even had olive oil. Read through it twice in the grocery. Brought it home and realized it also had canola oil. It was low in the list but ugh 😩

As a vegetarian, I cannot understand wanting to eat a fake ‘chicken’ breast. (I don’t want anything of the texture or flavour) If I want a veggie burger, I make them with black beans, spices etc. The plant based replacement food is mostly junk. I can make a fantastic bolognaise replacement using ground carrots and the stalk of broccoli & florets ground, then seasoned as a normal recipe. Being vegetarian doesn’t mean you have to resort to this non food that is really just wheat, oils and gums with different names to make them sound‘ healthy’

As a vegan for over 20 years I agree...When I began though "plant based" was not a catch phrase. When the Beyond brand and others like Quoa, etc... I never tried began showing up I had no desire and I am and have been a label reader since before I became vegan so I avoided a lot of fake overly processed food anyway. Some of the plant based foods have extremely high sodium content also I don't want that. I do eat tofu but ALWAYS organic. There is a newer brand of vegan butter cream cheese, etc. I like a lot though and it seems better than others though would be interested in your opinion...the brand is called MIYOKO's. The spreadable margarine with oat milk does have organic high oleic sunflower oil though which I have read varying reviews on. I just started viewing your channel...I will go through and scan the topics to see if you cover this organic high oleic sunflower oil for what you may share in regards to this. The sticks of MIYOKO's butter do not have the sunflower oil (and cashew milk) but organic coconut oil and taste better than the oat milk margarine in my opinion. (Some Kite Hill...yes just tried it).

I went whole food plant base 4 1/2 years ago and eat no oil, sugar, flour, or processed food. If I need flour, I blend up oats. I make bean burgers with oats as a binder and lots of good spices. I water sauté my veggies. I don’t want anything that reminds me of meat. My health is so much better. I am making stuffed bell peppers tonight with beans, corn, rice, tomatoes etc. and will make roasted cauliflower and broccoli as the side. I have about a pound of raw salad and veggies and fruits in it at lunch With balsamic vinegar dressing. If people eat those frankenfoods, it should be a transition food. I have never had any of that processed stuff. I understand you know this Bobbie but this is for your followers to see. Either you or the “so many vegans” that you know don’t understand that being vegan isn’t about the planet or one’s personal health, but about their concern for animals. Being vegan means that you don’t intentionally harm nonhuman animals by creating a demand for their flesh, skin, fur, their eggs, milk or any other parts of their bodies. Soy and corn may be the biggest monocrops but most of that is being fed to livestock. Eating soy directly actually helps the environment. A healthy person can't eat as much as a livestock. And people don't really need to fear soy unless they have a soy allergy. Tofu, tempeh, and soy curls are great sources of plant-based proteins.
