This conversion is the best thing I've made in our kitchen. Its not difficult to do and anyone with some building/making skills could do this. If you've made drawers before you can do this.

I agree, my pantry is a load of rubbish, I constantly knock goods over, but my husband says it's fine & it's staying that way.

That’s so good Vic, that’s about a $2500.00 upgrade + labour that you did to your kitchen and you’ve made it with a really high finish quality. You’ve inspired me to do mine now, might even make a video for the fans.

That's the way all kitchen's should be made. Some of the shelves get so deep that not even light can get back that far.

Yeah bro that’s how I do all new kitchen fit outs now, barely any shelves, mostly drawers. Currently about $100 per pair of Blum runners starts to add up...

Hi, great idea with the 16mm at the sides to clear the hinges. Your draw runners will then be fixed to these 16mm spacers.

So meticulous and well made, they'll last a long time. Wish I'd seen this a week ago, just built a set of melamine drawers to go in my sons wardrobe. Build came out quite nice, nothing special, just a big melamine box with 5 drawers, but I used a razor blade to trim the iron on melamine...made a meal of it for the first few drawers 😆Luckily they'll never be seen, but still, something I need to learn a new technique for!

GREAT idea. You just need a small step stool now to get to the high shelves. 😉 Yep, just a chisel for me, for the trimming.

Really liked this a lot and the tip on trimming the banding was gold. I will be going to the big green shed tomorrow to grab some supplies to do the same. As you are now an ironing master what time can I drop of the basket of clothes?

Try making a spice rack then fit it to one of the drawer slides screw that to the inside of the cupboard and voila the spice rack just slides out to select which one you want

Hi mate, do you mean the drawer slides? I bought them from a kitchen place, can’t remember where exactly but they are just standard slides which are widely available. I’ve bought them from Bunnings as well

I have these & almost every time I pull them out, something fall behind the drawer & then I can't close them til I get on the floor & reach back there to pull it out. Such a pain

That’s doesn’t sound good at all mate. I don’t have and haven’t yet had that problem luckily. We try and not stack things too high on each tray.
