This is my problem; I always give myself a hard time, being overly judgmental about myself, instead of just ‘enjoying’ and ‘being happy’ with ‘doing’ the art.

I've always been on this cycle where I keep on telling myself not to get overwhelmed about things, but ironically giving myself a hard time anyway. It keeps on and on, not until recently, when I realized that I shouldn't be bothered too much. Where overthinking to such things and overwhelming myself, results to less, few or even no outcome. Let yourself enjoy (though discipline is also important).

Ever since I was a child I love to draw. I would always doodle when I was bored. I never took drawing serious though, cuz besides drawing I also love video editing, psychology and writing. Thus, I went more towards video editing. But after some time, I started to think about other stuff that I also enjoy and even though I was doing them less I would still do them. So, I decided in free time to study more about them whenever I got the chance. Writing and drawing was for me the hardest, while psychology came the most natural to me after picking up few books and reading through them. Drawing however, was especially hard for me. You see, I get in conflict with myself. I don't have enough time to do the detailed drawings nor do I actually feel like spending hours and hours on end to finish one (sort a lazy here), but my eyes do not find anything else pleasant except detail drawings. I tried 2-3 times to do detailed drawings and finished them, indeed I liked it... but... I did not found it worth it... Especially since it took me few days, and there is always that little voice in the back of my head telling me "Well, you could had wrote something and even edit video due that spent out time", thus it started to feel like I was wasting my time. And hey, it would probably took me less if I didnt have to research so much before I start drawing that something, if I knew how to do clothing and hair better instead of needing to look it up because I am not sure how they will act in certain situations. I also tried doing learning step by step which ended up with me practicing drawing for 6 months without even once drawing something that I actually wanted and with no surprise there, I burned out and stopped drawing for few years. (Still drew sometimes, 'cuz honestly there just no way to remove something you love forever, it will still linger and be there with you). I recently got back to it, and do both practices and drawings that I want to do. Detailing drawing is still an issue for me, but I try to ignore it cuz in the end I love it more than hating it. Also, ik some people watch movies/series when they draw but u are actually first person that I seen doing so, and even though I knew peoples do this it was still pleasant to actually see ~
