If you play as the Allies, you are also technically normalizing carpet bombing of cities, nuclear bombing of civilians, execution of Japanese prisoners without due process, mass rape of occupied German cities by Soviet forces, etc. If you start from the premise that playing a faction during a 10 minute multiplayer match is normalization of wartime atrocities or twisted ideologies of said faction, then you must avoid 95% of shooters out there. As for the developers who would also want to avoid any sort of normalization, they would need to make alternate reality WW2 shooters in which every faction is woke as hell and only fight for the betterment of mankind through virtue signaling, and fight each others using only tranquilizing darts because death in combat should not be normalized.
