In this video we are going to look at alternative words and expressions to replace REALLY in written and spoken English. REALLY is an extremely useful word - I use it myself but it's possible to use it too much (even native speakers do that). So improve your English vocabulary with this useful lesson that will help you express yourself in a richer and more nuanced way.

Thank you for the little epiphanies that hits me when I watch your lessons: it's the same delight you feel when you find a piece of a puzzle. If someone can help me to improve my English . . . It was such a cheerless evening I had last night with Sonia. Sonia, if you don't know her, is my girlfriend and is simply nice, absolutely intelligent and dreadfully sweet. It was Sonia's birthday and I decided to take her to this notoriously trendy restaurant in the West End called Artful Dodger's. Its specialty is London street food. Which is just weird because it's clearly posh and it's not on the street. It's on the 50th floor of this very tall building. The place and the decor are quite original and rather interesting. It's starkly much better than any other place I know. I went to The Shed the other day that restaurant that was highly recommended on TripAdvisor and I was totally disappointed. Anyway, we were expecting some complicated food but in fact, it was quite simple and merely exceptional. The main course was avocado on toast which, although I did like it, I thought it was thoroughly overpriced. I mean, £50 for two servings of grilled bread some mashed avocado and a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds scattered on top. That's so much as ridiculous. I can do it at home and it would be soundly much cheaper. Anyway, I complained to the waiter that it was too much expensive, and he became very angry with me but he was excessively friendly with Sonia and Sonia was cheekily friendly with him. I was itching to fight him but he was so big and too muscular. In the end, he let me keep my £50 but he kept Sonia. The whole thing was freaking annoying.

Dear Gideon, ''really'' is that kind of word so useful to avoid embarassing situations, and I noticed native English speakers love you when using it, though I ''really'' appreciated: - ... which is ''dead'' weird - ... it was ''way'' overpriced - ... it was ''exceedingly'' friendly - ... ''itching'' Thank you and stay mellow!

How to use 'to be' in a sentence, but not as an auxiliary verb. Auxiliary verbs are: be, do, have, will, shall, would, should, can, could, may, might, must, ought, etc. Do you mean "Are you serious?" "Am I invited too?" "He is really loud" or do you mean "to be young is to be free" "just to be clear...." Or the passive voice, "His punishment is yet to be decided."
