I honestly think that slugging is one of those things that mostly benefits people with specific issues like eczema, or mature skin that is very dry. It's something I can imagine my mom doing (she's in her 70s). I might try this sometime in the future, but at the moment any highly occlusive products tend to break me out. I do like the idea because of how affordable and simple it is.

I started slugging, just my body 2 or 3 nights a week for the last year, and I have been trying to convince everyone in my family to start doing it lol. I coat everything from my neck down and put on a long sleeve cotton top, leggings and fluffy socks and go to bed. It all dries/absorbs, never leaves a greasy residue on my skin and doesn't leave grease spots on my clothes/bed. And my skin has literally never been so plump and moisturized in my entire life! It literally changed my life lol.

Slugging is about the only way I can keep my dry skin decently moisturized at night. I hate waking up with a dry, tight face! However, this may not be a good idea if you have oily skin. If Vaseline or Aquaphor are too heavy, try Vanicream. That's what I use in warm weather.

So I'm acne prone and do the Vaseline thing. I just make sure my face is CLEAN ( oil cleanse then reg cleanse) before I put it on. After moisturizer I wash my hands before I grab for the Vaseline. Between moisturizer and Vaseline absolutely nothing and no one is allowed to touch my face. I have had zero issues with it makeing me break out in any way.

Oh my God! I was literally looking for a slugging video by Cassandra all day yesterday and I was getting worried with winter coming that I wasn’t gonna know what to do about it without her knowledge and insight! Thank you Cassie we love you so much!! I’ve been watching you since we were both in high school dealing with acne and make up and just trying to figure out how to hide it and survive and stuff. Watching Cassie grow and learning with her was life-changing for me too and my skin! You have helped us all grow Cassie!! Now I’m so deep into skin care and my skin has transformed! I love you so much Cassie and I hope that you feel my love and all the love from your beautiful butterflies! Thank you for being not just our mama butterfly, but a garden of knowledge and friendship for all your butterflies! 💖💖💖💖💖💖🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hi cassandra🦋 I'm from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 I've been watching your videos for almost 2+ years.. i really want you to know that you've been a big life changer for me. I used to have super acne prone skin and i was at my worst when i found you.. i used to do home remedies for my skin but it stopped working for me... Then i found you and got educated about skin science and skin care. Many of your suggested products are not available in my country and the available ones are super expensive. But i learned about the ingredients, actives, acids from you.. so i started to TURN AND LEARN the available products.. and it did magic to my skin... I am still learning from you a lot..I really Wanna Thank you for this❤ and i really wish to meet you someday 💗

I don’t really like using aquaphor or Vaseline on my face. They’re great products, I just don’t like the feeling of it on my face. A thick moisturizer works better for me for “slugging.” I’ve used the skinfix triple lipid cream, Haru haru’s moisturizer, & farmacy’s niacinimide sleep mask. Those are so good if you have dry/dehydrated skin, especially in winter. Plus, the skinfix & farmacy have mini versions and they last me all winter

I didnt know I had dry skin until I could afford skin care, growing up we used vaseline cuz we were poor. I have severely dry skin and my skin conditions are papulopustular rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis and Vaseline and aquaphor for some reason broke me out like crazy. The only ones that work for me are the Cerave ointment or the Aveeno baby eczema therapy balm they work so good and don’t feel greasy at all. Im definitely going to try a few of these and see if they work as well.

Can you do a video on lanolin/Aquaphor? And how to “slug” over sunscreen?
@Kiterpuss
@Kiterpuss Жыл бұрын
No offense but why would you need to slug over sunscreen? Slugging is really an overnight thing - that's why the slug slime look is okay, nobody sees you lol. If you mean using a more occlusive moisturizer over a sunscreen because you deal with dry skin during the day, you'll have much better luck focusing on a better daytime moisturizer that meets your needs while under your sunscreen.
@JesPulido

@@Kiterpuss Lol. Well, I work from home and during the winter, after Tretinoin and the Ordinary's acid peel and with the heat running, my face feels EXTREMELY dry. Sometimes I feel like Vaseline/lanolin/Aquaphor are the only things that will make my skin happy.

You probably don't want to slug over sunscreen as it has to be an even undisturbed film/layer in order to protect you. Maybe you should get a thicker sunscreen and/or moisturizer for during the day, but definitely dont put vaseline or moisturizer over sunscreen because they can break it down or make it uneven therefore minimizing your protection

This question is a bit off subject and esoteric in nature, but does anyone know when and where the pronunciation of the third syllable as “lah” instead of “lay” came from and when it was popularized? I’m in my 60’s and grew up with it being pronounced as “lay.” (It’s like the current pronunciation of processes with a long “o” and the last “e” being long. I’d like to know where that came from, too.)

I looked for the SLMD body seal and I couldn’t find it. They had a lot of different ones but couldn’t find the body seal. Help! I had a major itchy break out after doing a Glycolic acid, then next day used my Tretinoin. I have never broken out like this before. It burned and itched like crazy then got really dry and flakey afterward. I covered my face in. Aquafore and a thick moisturizer and it started to heal. I never had that reaction before! I do have THC in my moisturizer and wondered if that was another culprit to my breakout. I am 69 and usually only have Roseacia breakouts. This wasn’t like those at all, it was way worse!

Watching this with my face covered in Vaseline. 😂 You should never slug on top of retinoids it will cause worse irritation, redness, or peeling!!! Doing that amplifies the strength of your retinoid in a bad way. It's best to only slug on days you don't use retin, to help your skin recover from the drying and exfoliating side effects of the medication.
